DC’s Heroes in Crisis Is a Brutal Read

Sometimes there’s a huge difference between a story that’s well-executed and a story that’s actually enjoyable to read. Heroes in Crisis #1 illustrates that gulf about as well as any comic in recent memory. This is a series featuring some of the best creators currently working at DC telling a very intimate, emotionally charged tale of tragedy striking the superhero community. The first issue is also unpleasant and even somewhat off-putting in its impact on the DCU. But no doubt that was the intention. Given the subject matter and the real-world events fueling Heroes in Crisis, fun doesn’t really enter into the equation.

Heroes in Crisis introduces Sanctuary, a refuge built by Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman to serve as a safe haven for heroes weighed down by the physical and psychological pressures of the job. Unfortunately, as the series opens, Sanctuary has been rocked by a mass murder, transforming a place of healing into one of bloodshed.

Sora Voice Actor for Kingdom Hearts 3 Confirmed

Square Enix has finally confirmed some of the Kingdom Hearts III voice cast, primarily that a host of familiar voices from Disney movies are reprising their roles in KH3.

In addition to Disney characters, Square Enix has confirmed that Haley Joel Osment, who originated the role of Sora in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, will return to voice the franchise protagonist in KH3.

Square Enix had no comment when reached by IGN regarding who will be voicing other characters original to the series, including who will be voicing Riku, Kairi, Aqua, and more.

As for Disney characters, Square has confirmed the main cast for Frozen — Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad — will be returning to voice Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf, respectively. Fortnite Xbox One Bundle Comes With Skins, V-Bucks, And More

[UPDATE] Xbox has confirmed that the Fortnite Xbox One console will also be available in Australia and New Zealand. Intriguingly, in ANZ regions, the bundle will be available in Xbox One S and Xbox One X models, whereas in the US it’s only for the Xbox One S model.

ANZ players have to wait longer, however, as the system doesn’t arrive until November 2. It’ll be available at retailers across the country in Australia and New Zealand. Here is pricing:

  • Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle — AU$399/NZ$449
  • Xbox One X Fortnite Bundle — AU$649/NZ$749

The original story follows below.

There are already Fortnite PS4 and Nintendo Switch bundles, and now Xbox One is getting one as well. The $300 Xbox One S bundle launches this week in the United States, and, among other things, it comes with a cosmetic set that includes the Eon outfit, Aurora glider, and Resonator axe.

It also includes 2,000 V-Bucks, which is enough to buy the upcoming Battle Pass that is expected to launch with the upcoming Fortnite Season 6. The package also comes with 1-month trial codes for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass.

This new bundle is notable given that less than a year ago, the only battle royale game Microsoft seemed to pay much attention to was PUBG, which it had an exclusive deal with. Microsoft already released a PUBG Xbox One bundle and a PUBG-themed controller.

As for why Microsoft is now hyping up another battle royale game, it’s pretty obvious: Fortnite is pretty much the most popular game on planet Earth right now. Not only that, but Microsoft’s deal with PUBG may be ending soon, as the game looks like it’s headed to PS4.

Fortnite Season 6 begins on Thursday, September 27. It will presumably include a new battle pass to purchase, along with something do with a robotic llama DJ. We might also finally learn what the hell that whole purple cube drama was all about.

Monster Hunter Movie Adds Ron Perlman And T.I. Harris

The upcoming Monster Hunter movie based on Capcom’s video game franchise has added two more big-name cast members. Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy, Hellboy) and hip hop artist T.I. Harris who starred in Marvel’s Ant-Man and its sequel have joined the cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Resident Evil actress Milla Jovovich will also star in the film, which is being directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, who directed Jovovich–his wife–in all of the Resident Evil movies.

Jovovich will play a character named Artemis in Monster Hunter, while Perlman is set to portray someone named Admiral. Harris is playing a sniper named Link. Filming begins in October in South Africa; the budget is reportedly around $60 million.

The movie is being produced in part by the film company Constantin, which also worked on the Resident Evil movies. The six Resident Evil movies made more than $1.2 billion at the global box office over 10 years, so Constantin and Sony/Screen Gems will be looking to repeat that success to at least some degree.

There are no official plot details for the Monster Hunter movie yet, but Anderson previously spoke at a high level about why he thinks the franchise is so appealing.

“What I love about Monster Hunter is the incredibly beautiful, immersive world they’ve created. It’s on the level of like a Star Wars movie, in terms of world creation,” he said. “There are no real central characters so it’s a bit like when we first approached Resident Evil and imposed our own characters and story on that world. I think this is a perfect IP for us to do exactly that same thing again.”

The latest Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter World, has been a massive success. By Capcom’s latest count, the Xbox One, PS4, and PC game has passed 10 million copies shipped.
