Venom Teaser Trailer Hints at Eddie Brock’s Transformation

The first teaser trailer for Sony’s Venom has arrived, coming the day after the studio unveiled the official teaser poster for the upcoming comic book adaptation. Check out the teaser trailer below:

The first official footage from the upcoming movie focuses heavily on Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and less so on story. Notably absent in the trailer is the Venom symbiote itself, though there are plenty of other Easter eggs and moments of note in the minute-long video. Stay tuned for our full trailer breakdown, coming later today.

Venom wrapped filming a couple of weeks ago, so chances are Venom isn’t present in this trailer simply because the footage of the iconic Marvel character wasn’t ready for the world to see — especially since the film still has plenty of post-production work in the months ahead before its October 5th release date. Still, the movie is leaning heavily on the symbiote for its marketing, with both the final shot of the teaser trailer and the teaser poster lingering on a minimalist version of Venom’s signature eyes on a black background.

The 15:17 to Paris Review

As a director, when Clint Eastwood gets it right, he gets it really right but when he doesn’t, he really doesn’t. With The 15:17 to Paris, it’s a classic example of Eastwood dropping the ball, big time.

This biographical thriller is based on the autobiography The 15:17 to Paris: The True Story of a Terrorist, a Train, and Three American Soldiers by Jeffrey E. Stern, Spencer Stone, Anthony Sadler and Alek Skarlatos. It stars Stone, Sadler, and Skarlatos as themselves and reenacts their stopping the 2015 Thalys train attack. The decision for the trio to play themselves was really only ever going to go one of two ways, good or bad, and the way it has gone is really about as far away from the preferred option as possible.

Google Reportedly Working on PlayStation Now-Like Game Streaming Service

Google may be preparing to make a big grab at the global video game business by launching its own subscription-based game streaming service, reports The Information.

Citing sources with knowledge of the project, the service could be offered via Google’s Chromecast, or potentially even a Google-made console.

According to the report the game streaming service plan, apparently codenamed ‘Yeti’, has been kicking around the halls of the tech giant for around two years. It also points to former Xbox and PlayStation executive Phil Harrison joining Google last month as Vice President and GM as a sign something may indeed be afoot. Harrison also served on the advisory board of cloud-gaming service provider Gaikai prior to Gaikai’s acquisition by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2012.

This 2 TB Sea Of Thieves Game Drive Comes With In-Game Content And A Game Pass Membership

Seagate has announced the next of its special edition game drives, this one themed around Rare’s upcoming Xbox One and PC pirate game Sea of Thieves. The 2 TB drive is pretty cool-looking, featuring the “Reaper’s Mark” logo on the purple case.

It also comes with in-game content in the form of the weapon The Midnight Blunderbuss, which I am also calling dibs on now for my sludge-rock band that I want to form. Additionally, it includes a one-month Xbox Game Pass membership. That’s notable because, with that membership, you’ll be able to get Sea of Thieves at launch on March 20 at no extra cost because first-party Xbox games are now launching into Game Pass right away. However, you must keep your subscription active or buy the game outright to continue playing after the first month.

Seagate says the drive’s USB 3.0 speed means you won’t notice any slowdown for games playing off the drive compared to the Xbox One’s internal hard drive. The $90 Sea of Thieves drive launches on March 20 alongside the game.

In other news, Xbox has announced a $75 Sea of Thieves Xbox One controller, which is shipping to retailers now. It also features the Reaper’s Mark logo and it comes with the Ferryman Clothing Set, which you can unlock in the game on March 20. Also included are 14-day trials for Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass.

And related to that, Microsoft also announced the “Xbox Pro Charging Stand” from Controller Gear. Described as a “premium charging stand,” it comes with a battery cover, a rechargeable battery, and a six-foot power cord. launches on April 5 for $50. Finally, Controller Gear is also launching a $15 standard controller stand featuring the same design. You can see all of the newly announced Sea of Thieves devices in the gallery above.

Sea of Thieves launches for Xbox One and PC on March 20 and will support cross-play between the two platforms.

Channel Zero: 8 Fan-Favorite Creepypastas The Show Should Adapt Next

In 2016, Syfy debuted a new horror anthology series called Channel Zero. What set the new series apart from others like it was that each season was based on a Creepypasta story. Season 1 adapted “Candle Cove,” a story originally about a terrifying TV show for children that never existed. Season 2 was based on of the most famous Creepypasta stories, “No End House.” The original story is about a house that subjects those who enter it to increasingly terrifying rooms based on their fears.

With Season 3, Channel Zero will be adapting “Search and Rescue Woods,” a story about a search and rescue officer who is tasked with finding missing persons in an unnamed forest. What he encounters is horrifying and surreal. The new season, which is called “Butcher’s Block,” comes to Syfy on Wednesday, February 7 at 10 PM ET.
