You may have heard of a little animation studio called Studio Ghibli and maybe even the studio responsible for adapting My Hero Academia, Bones, but have you heard of Orange? Or how about director Naoko Yamada? Whether you’re a seasoned anime fan or just getting started, here are a few lesser-known studios and fantastic creators in the anime industry that have a lot of potential to do even more great things in the future.
In this article, we purposefully left out creators like Makoto Shinkai and Mamoru Hosoda, and studios like Trigger, P.A. Works, and Madhouse because of their already established and rather well-known critical acclaim.
Mel Gibson is set to direct, produce and co-write a remake of 1969’s The Wild Bunch.
According to Deadline, Gibson will co-write the screenplay with Bryan Bagby. There is no word yet on a release date for the remake or whether Gibson will act in the film.
While Gibson is set to bring The Wild Bunch back to the big screen, he is still gearing up to direct Destroyer, an epic about the USS Laffey, which defended itself against 22 kamikaze attacks during World War II. Deadline reports that Gibson is still slated to start shooting Destroyer in the spring.
Fortnite Season 6 is just around the corner. Epic has confirmed that the new season will release on Thursday, September 27 to follow shortly after the end of Season 5 on Tuesday, September 25. Unlike some other seasons, though, Epic hasn’t been quite as clear about its hints of what’s to come. Here’s what we know so far, including a look at the first teaser for Season 6.
First, a primer. In August, lightning bolts struck the desert and left a glowing purple cube. It had a few strange properties like recharging shields and bouncing players off if they got too close. The cube spent a little while dormant before starting to move slowly across the map, rotating at regular intervals. Fans quickly decoded runes it was leaving behind to predict it was heading for Loot Lake, but what would happen when it reached that point was still mysterious. That is until last week, when it hit the lake and began to melt, turning the whole pool into a bouncy surface.
That all leads to the latest, when Fortnite dropped its first real Season 6 hint on Twitter. The teaser image shows what appears to be a robotic llama within an image of the cube, with a caption that reads “All great parties need a DJ.” Presumably that’s a skin players will be able to obtain next season. That, or Fortnite is ditching this whole “battle royale” fad to bring back the rhythm genre. We’ll continue to update as more teases appear to drop details.
This only leaves a few precious hours left to finish your Season 5 challenges before the season ends, so be sure to check out our Season 5 challenges roundup to chase down any that you may have missed.
With September coming to a close, you may be running out of TV series and movies to watch on your Amazon Prime Video account. Luckily, October is almost here, and Amazon is releasing a whole new batch of content for you to binge. Here’s what you have to look forward to in the upcoming month.
Because Halloween is right around the corner, you’re probably looking for a few scares, and Amazon Prime has you covered. Coming on October 1 is Clive Barker’s Nightbreed. Craig Sheffer plays Aaron Boone, a rebel who is drawn to a place called Midian, where deformed monsters live. Boone becomes one of the monsters himself, and a serial killer tries to make Boone a scapegoat. It is Barker’s most underrated film as a director or writer. Additionally, the Jim Carrey horror/thriller The Number 23 hits the service, and while it is not a good movie by any means, it is an entertaining movie to watch.
As far as Prime Originals go, The Man in the High Castle returns for Season 3 on October 5 and Lore gets a second season on October 19. Also, the Amazon children’s series Tumbleleaf gets a Halloween special on October 19.
Below, you’ll find a full listing of everything coming to Amazon in October. The vast majority of the service’s releases for the month will be on Friday, October 1. If you’re looking for more subscription service releases for October, check out what Hulu has in store next month.

You Were Never Really Here (Prime Original movie) (2017)
It might not have been the movie fans would have expected to release after Avengers: Infinity War, but Ant-Man and the Wasp has a lightness and comedic touch that acts as a palate cleanser before whatever darkness awaits in the Marvel cinematic timeline. Ant-Man and the Wasp follows the adventures of Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne (the two title characters) as they try to bring Hope’s mother back from the quantum realm. The movie is coming to digital platforms for home viewing on October 2, with the 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD landing on October 16.
You can read our Ant-Man and the Wasp review for our thoughts on the film. If you want to pick up a copy for home viewing, you’ll probably want to know where you can find it, what comes with each edition, and how much it costs. We have all of the answers below.
Ant-Man and the Wasp Digital Edition
If you want to get your hands on the movie as soon as possible, you’ll have to buy the digital edition. Here’s where you can get it and how much it costs. Spoilers: the HD versions are all $20, though you can get the standard-definition version for $15 at some digital retailers.
Ant-Man and the Wasp 4K Ultra HD

Ant-Man and the Wasp Blu-ray
The Blu-ray also comes with a digital copy of the movie and has a wide range of prices, depending on where you buy it.
Ant-Man and the Wasp DVD
Only one retailer is offering pre-orders for the DVD version of this movie at the moment, which might explain its hefty price tag.

There’s never been a better time to be a Nintendo Switch owner, because not only is the console a gateway to a library of excellent first-party titles, but the list of killer indies on the Eshop grows by the week. Better yet, those games tend to go on sale often. This week’s Nintendo Switch Eshop sale features a fantastic selection of mostly indie games for cheap. Let’s take a look.
At $20, the beloved–and exceedingly dark–roguelike game The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ is half off this week. In it, you play as a boy whose mom goes nuts, so he retreats to the cellar, which is filled with monsters he has to fight using his tears. Yeah, it’s grim.
The Metroid-style game Cave Story+ is on sale for $15. If you think you have the reflexes to handle a bullet-hell shooter, Ikaruga is always a good choice, especially on sale for $10. For a game in the vein of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, you can pick up Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas, also $10.
Velocity 2X is an excellent sci-fi game that’s all about speed and collectibles; it’s on sale for $16. And the gravity-manipulating game VVVVVV might not look like much thanks to its Atari-era graphics, but it’s a lot of fun to play if you’re into tricky precision platforming.
A number of other Switch, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U games are on sale on the Eshop this week as well. You can find the full list here.
Everyone loves a rogue, which probably explains why Han Solo has always been one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars universe. With Solo: A Star Wars Story, the smuggler finally has a movie to call his own. Set before the events of the original trilogy, Solo tells the story of how Han meets Chewie, acquires the Millennium Falcon, and starts a rocky relationship with Lando Calrissian. The movie has already landed on digital platforms, and it’s coming to 4K and Blu-ray on September 25.
You can check out our Solo: A Star Wars Story review to see our thoughts on the film, but if you’re ready to lock down a copy for yourself, you’ll probably want to know where you can get the best deal. Below, we break down what comes with each edition of the movie, where you can buy it, how much it costs, and what special features come with it.
Solo: A Star Wars Story Digital Edition
You might not be able to set a digital copy of Solo on your movie shelf, but you don’t have to get up to put in the disc when you want to watch the movie. Here’s where you can order the digital version and how much it costs.
Solo: A Star Wars Story 4K Ultra HD
The 4K UHD version of Solo also comes with a regular Blu-ray copy, as well as a digital code.
Solo: A Star Wars Story Blu-Ray
The Blu-ray version of the film also comes with a digital code.
Retailer-Exclusive Editions
The movie is available at a couple of retailers in exclusive editions. Here they are.
Best Buy – Best Buy has a special edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray copy that comes in an exclusive steelbook case. You can buy it here for $35.
Target – Target is selling an exclusive edition that comes with the movie on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital, along with a filmmaker gallery and storybook. It costs $33, and you can buy it here.

PlayStation Now is Sony’s video game streaming service that lets you play a large selection of PlayStation games on your PS4 or PC (including Macs). What you might not know is that we’re closing in on the end of the service’s summer sale price. When September 25 rolls around, the prices for one-, three-, and 12-month PlayStation Now subscriptions will go up. So if you want to save money on access to hundreds of PlayStation games from the past three console generations, now is the time to lock in the sale price.
Making the deal even sweeter is that you can now download to your PS4 nearly all of the PS4 games on the service, as well as some of the PS2 games. Previously, PS Now was only a streaming service, which meant you needed a fairly robust internet connection to transmit data back and forth to play games. The company says this feature is being rolled out gradually to subscribers over the next few days.
Here’s the summer sale pricing for PlayStation Now, along with links to get you those sweet sale prices:
If you’re unsure you want to spend money on a service you haven’t tried yet, you can sign up for a seven-day free trial. The only caveat is, if you want to get the sale price on your subscription, you’ll need to lock it in by September 25, before your trial is up.
Melissa Hutchison, the voice of Clementine in Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead, shared an emotional letter over the weekend in response to Telltale’s “majority studio closure.” In the letter, she addressed reports that The Walking Dead: The Final Season will end prematurely, saying, to the best of her knowledge, the series will, in fact, conclude after Episode 2.
Hutchison prefaced the letter on Twitter by saying her heart was “too broken for words” upon hearing Telltale laid off the majority of its staff last Friday. She then expressed her appreciation for the online support she’s been receiving, before addressing the closure:
