Fortnite: Battle Royale’s New Update Lets You Ride On A Guided Missile

Fortnite: Battle Royale got a big new patch today that implements a bunch of changes and brings back an old limited-time game mode. The update also includes a new weapon, the Guided Missile, which has provided an unexpected high point of the new patch.

This is because the Guided Missile moves slow enough to ride on. That’s right, you can now surf on one of the giant, slow-moving missiles. This is actually the second weapon that players can ride on; the Pumpkin Launcher is also surf-able. But the Guided Missile is much more fun because the person who launched it can control its flight. Twitch streamer and esports athlete Myth demonstrated missile surfing, and you can see it in action in the video below.

It’s pretty hilarious, and it shows another example of some of the wackier strategies and stunts that Fortnite players come up with, both to get an advantage and just to have fun. We have no idea if missile-surfing will ever be used strategically–but it’s fun to imagine a player launching a missile and their teammate toward an enemy’s location.

The Fortnite 3.4 patch is also headlined by the return of Sniper Shootout, which features the addition of the Hunting Rifle and Crossbow and the removal of the Magnum Revolver. Further, the game’s 30 FPS option has been removed. You can see the full Fortnite 3.4 patch notes here.

Agents of SHIELD Brings Yo-Yo One Step Closer to the Comics

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD hasn’t been afraid to put its characters through the wringer in Season 5, and that goes double for Yo-Yo Rodriguez (Natalia Cordova-Buckley), who lost both arms during a brutal battle with General Hale’s daughter, Ruby (Dove Cameron) in “All the Comforts of Home.”

Yo-Yo’s recovery process has been slow and heartbreaking to watch, but hope emerged in “Principia” when Mack (Henry Simmons) retrieved two robotic arms to help get his partner back in fighting shape, and in episode 16, “Inside Voices” (airing April 6), we’ll see her put them to good use. Ahead of the episode’s debut, IGN has an exclusive first look at Yo-Yo with her high-tech new arms below.

Hands-On with Valve’s New Game, Artifact

While Valve’s next game isn’t what many people were hoping for when it was initially announced, it’s still shaping up to be a whole lot of fun. Artifact is a Dota 2-themed digital card game that breaks a lot of the norms you might expect from a Digital TCG, then injects it chock full of lore and love for the MOBA it’s built around.

We went and played Artifact at Valve and seriously enjoyed it, but for two very different reasons. Miranda has over 1,200 hours in Dota 2, while Tom has tried basically every digital card game released in the last three years. Odds are you might also find yourself further to one side of that venn diagram, so here’s what we thought of our time with Artifact from each of those perspectives.
