New Men In Black Spin-Off Movie Reunites Thor: Ragnarok Co-Stars

We may never get the Men in Black and 21 Jump Street crossover movie that was in the works for some time, but that doesn’t mean fans of the former are out of luck. A new reboot spin-off of the Men in Black film franchise is in the works, and it’ll star two of the leads from Thor: Ragnarok.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Men in Black reboot will star Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, who recently worked together on Thor: Ragnarok (where they played Thor and Valkyrie, respectively). It’s being directed by F. Gary Gray (The Fate of the Furious, Straight Outta Compton) and written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, who served as the screenwriters on the original Iron Man. It’s set for release on June 14, 2019.

The report compares this reboot to what happened with Jurassic World. It will build on the existing world from the Men in Black movies starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones but without featuring the actors or their characters.

Specifics on the plot remain unknown, though THR says its sources indicate “the new project is more of an ensemble piece than a two-hander and will be more global in scope.” That could mean you can expect other big-name actors to be announced in the future, though there’s no official word on that as of yet. We’ll report back as we learn more.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Update Makes Big Changes To How The Game Works

Star Wars Battlefront II is a gorgeous game that addresses many of the fan requests after the previous Battlefront, such as bringing together characters from multiple Star Wars eras. But its progression system was deeply flawed, even with the last-minute removal of microtransactions just before its launch.

A newly released update completely rethinks how Battlefront II progression works, and we took a look at it in our latest livestream, a replay of which you can watch above. We recap what was so troubling about how the game originally worked and then explore the way things work now.

Among other things, all heroes and hero ships have been unlocked for all players. Crates (the game’s loot boxes) are now home only to credits and cosmetic items, rather than anything that affect gameplay–things like Star Cards and weapons are now unlocked through gameplay. However, anything you unlocked previously is still available to you, regardless of how you obtained it.

Microtransactions are still not in place, although this update paves the way for their return. In April, you’ll be able to use real-world money to purchase Crystals, which can then be spent to purchase cosmetic skins (which don’t impact gameplay in any way). These skins will also be obtainable with credits.

Beyond the changes to progression, the new update makes a variety of balance changes and other tweaks, which you can read about in the patch notes. The update is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Sea Of Thieves Guide: Important Tips On How To Get Started

For better or worse, Sea of Thieves is a game that grants players a lot of freedom. While there are quests and goals, you aren’t led by the hand with an objective marker from one place to the next. You can go where you want and do what you want, but with that level of flexibility, actually getting started can be a bit overwhelming.

That’s where we come in. With the Xbox One and PC game now available, we’ve put together some advice on exactly how to get started. In the video above, we explain what to do when you first get into the game and highlight the differences between the three faction: Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance, and Order of Souls. You’ll see us take on a quest for the Order of Souls to hunt down a captain, and we run through the basics of piloting a ship–a process that’s more involved than simply grabbing hold of the wheel and hitting the accelerator.

Sea of Thieves is the latest game from Rare. It’s a console exclusive on Xbox One, though digital copies enjoy Play Anywhere support, meaning you can play it on both Xbox One and PC. More notably, it’s the first game to launch day and date through Xbox Game Pass. In other words, you don’t actually have to purchase the game to play it–for as long as you’re a Game Pass member, you’ll be able to play.

The game’s launch has unfortunately been less than smooth for many people. Numerous launch issues have impacted the game, including those which prevent players from getting online to play and some that cause a delay before receiving rewards. Rare has acknowledged the problems on its website and says it’s working to resolve them, but fixes may take some time.

Monster Hunter World Deviljho Armor And Weapons: All The New Gear

Monster Hunter World, like its predecessors, is all about the gear. It’s a game where you’ll fight the same enemies over and over in order to collect parts, all in the name of acquiring the exact set of items you want. Introducing a new monster to the mix–as the latest Monster World Update does with Deviljho–brings some variety to the hunt, as you’ve got an enemy with different behaviors, attacks, and weaknesses to contend with. But, just as importantly, it also means there’s new gear to get your hands on.

With the release of Deviljho, players who acquire parts from the monster will be able to craft a wealth of new gear. There’s a new weapon for each weapon type, so you’ll have something to strive for regardless of what you wield.

Additionally, there are two new High Rank Deviljho armor sets to get your hands on. The Alpha version will provide you with the following skills: Attack Boost (Level 4), Handicraft (3), Partbreaker (3), Latent Power (3), and Speed Eating (3). The Beta set provides these: Attack Boost (4), Latent Power (3), Speed Eating (3), and Partbreaker (1). The key difference between the two is that Beta provides more flexibility with the decorations you can equip.

You can check out images of all the weapons and male armor above; we’re working on acquiring the female armor and will update once we’ve gotten it. You’ll need to be prepared to take on Deviljho, who’s among the tougher enemies to face in World. The monster is now available on both PS4 and Xbox One alongside a suite of weapon balance changes, adjustments to address online griefing while carving, and more. There will be more armor to hunt down in the near future, as crossover Mega Man and Devil May Cry sets are on the way, among others.

Deadpool 2 Trailer Confirms Terry Crews Is Playing This X-Force Character

The latest trailer for Deadpool 2 seems to finally confirm who Terry Crews is playing in the sequel.

The trailer shows Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) recruiting members for X-Force, a new team of anti-heroes. The group in the comics usually includes characters like Cable (Josh Brolin), Domino (Zazie Beetz), and Wolverine, and it looks as though Crews is starring as the longtime X-Force character Jesse Bedlam.

In a quick shot in the trailer, you can spot Deadpool going through a few headshots for potential X-Force members, and one of those headshots feature Terry Crews with the name Bedlam. Check out the screenshot below.

You can spot the name Bedlam in the far right, screenshot via the latest trailer, which briefly later includes Crews’ headshot.

Smash Bros. Tournament Will Be Held At E3

Nintendo is holding a Smash Bros. invitational tournament at E3, giving our first look at competitive play on the Switch. The tournament will take place June 11-12 in Los Angeles at E3, which kicks off on June 12. Given Nintendo’s tendency to debut its E3 announcements in a Nintendo Direct just before the show kicks off, it’s likely that our first look at Smash Bros. for Switch will come just before the exhibition tournament.

Running alongside the Smash Bros. tournament will be the first Splatoon 2 world championship since its launch last year. Nintendo is hosting US and Canada online qualifiers through Battlefy. Open qualifiers will take place April 21 at 11 AM PT, and finals will wrap up on April 28 at 8 AM PT. The competition will test your skills in both Turf War and Ranked Battle modes. Teams of four must be composed of players age 13 and up. You can check out full rules and registration information if you want to throw down some ink.

Hosting tournaments at E3 is becoming an annual tradition for Nintendo. It brought back the Nintendo World Championships in 2015, which promoted both Splatoon and Super Mario Maker. Last year it hosted tourneys for Splatoon 2 and Arms on Switch, before either game was released. Those all worked well as promotional events, but Smash Bros. has a vibrant competitive community that predates Nintendo’s official involvement. In fact, Nintendo’s relationship with fan tournaments was even contentious at times, before it turned a corner and allowed competitive play. Now the company seems to be embracing it fully.

Despite a brief look at some silhouettes in the debut trailer, we don’t know very much about the roster for this iteration of Smash Bros. We do know who we’d love to see make the cut.

Deadpool 2 Trailer 2 Is A Seriously NSFW Blast

The new trailer for Deadpool 2 is here. The sequel to 2015’s hugely successful X-Men spin-off hits theaters on May 16, and after months of unconventional marketing, we finally have a more traditional look at the new movie.

As well as star Ryan Reynolds, the trailer features all the characters who are returning from the first film, including Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), Weasel (T.J. Miller), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), and Dopinder (Karan Soni).

But there’s also plenty of footage of the new additions to the cast, most notably Josh Brolin’s Cable and Zazie Beetz’s Domino. It also hilariously references the superhero team X-Force from Deadpool comic books, and contains all the violence, gore, dark humor, and bad language that you’d expect–so be warned. Check it out above.

Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde). He replaced Tim Miller, who reportedly clashed with Reynolds over the direction of the movie. Last week it was reported that the film was undergoing reshoots to add more footage of Cable and Domino, who had proven very popular with audiences at test screenings.

In a recent interview with Collider, Brolin spoke about the physical challenges of playing Cable. “I got beat to s*** on that movie,” he said. “I had stuntmen throwing me all over the place. I’ve got a shoulder issue, I’ve got a knee issue that I’ve got to deal with now, but we got through it. We got through it. I pushed hard and I suffered because of it.”

Nintendo Switch Getting Third-Party Joy-Con With Traditional D-Pad

A third-party hardware maker is producing a joy-con peripheral with a traditional D-Pad for the Nintendo Switch.

The device is manufactured by Hori and will replace the left Joy-Con controller.

According to Famitsu, the peripheral will trade the motion-sensing capabilities of a typical Joy-Con for the D-pad, making it useful for those with serious ambitions in Switch fighting games that demand precise inputs.

God of War’s One-Shot Style Rejected by Tomb Raider Game Reboot

God of War director Cory Barlog had a single-shot game idea long before God of War and, having it been rejected for the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot.

As IGN noted in its recent God of War preview, the game’s use of a single, never-cutting shot for the entire game appears to be an affecting device for absorbing the player into the world. However, in an interview with The Daily Star, Cory Barlog revealed that this technique was not only not a new idea but one he’d had rejected previously.
