Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, a follow up to the teddy bear-centric horror games from Scott Cawthon, was teased with a short trailer during the PS5 event. The video featured slow camera shot of a creepy mall location and some new characters, but didn’t include much else.

The teaser showed multiple locations within the mall including a restaurant, a kitchen, a loading area with a forklift, and an 80’s inspired carnival-like area with neon lights. The game’s visuals make the locations look stunning, especially when compared to any of the game’s predecessors. All the locations are a part of Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizza Plex, according to developer Steel Wood Studios.

“At three stories tall, it’s the flashiest, raddest, rockingist, safest, pizzeria the universe has ever seen,” wrote Steel Wood Studios co-founder Andrew Dayton on the Official PlayStation Blog. “Of course, Freddy and the band are excited to meet you! Utilizing the latest in animatronic technology, you can actually party with the stars themselves. So, on your next birthday, let Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizza Plex make you a SUPERSTAR!”

Security Breach was originally slated for a 2020 release when it was announced in August 2019 during the franchises fifth anniversary, although no release date was given during the short teaser today. Steel Wood Studios didn’t reveal much new information about the game in the teaser or in the post on the PlayStation Blog.

Cawthon recently announced that his studio would be helping fan creators by providing funding for fan games, helping them get their games on consoles, and helping them with merchandize through the Fazbear Fanverse Initiative.

Capcom is bringing Devil May Cry 5 to PS5 with some new features and updates. Revealed during today’s PS5 Showcase event, Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is coming to Sony’s next-gen console, and it’ll be available digitally right at launch.

The biggest addition in DMC5: Special Edition is Vergil, who is joining the game as a playable character; the announcement trailer spent a lot of time showcasing his flashy sword skills. Those who already own the original DMC5 on PS4 will also have the option to purchase Vergil as paid DLC “at a later date.”

Capcom shared some additional details about DMC5: Special Edition in a PlayStation Blog post. In addition to Vergil, the game will feature the fan-favorite Turbo mode, as well as the Legendary Dark Knight difficulty. The game is also receiving some visual and performance improvements thanks to the PS5’s extra horsepower, including an optional 120 FPS mode.

As previously mentioned, DMC5: Special Edition is launching digitally alongside the PS5 this November for $40 USD. The system itself releases on November 12 in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, and on November 19 in other territories. The Digital edition will cost $400 USD, while the Standard edition will retail for $500 USD.

During the September 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase, Raven Software revealed more of what’s to come in the campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. In addition to an extended look at the campaign, it was announced that PS4 players will be able to play the multiplayer alpha for free this weekend.

In the livestream, creative director Dan Vondrak at Raven Software introduced the new gameplay for the campaign mission “Nowhere Left To Run,” which takes place in an isolated airport runway in Turkey. We see returning characters Woods and Mason attempt to assassinate a high-priority target. During the ensuing battle, we see the familiar, COD-style gunfights and gadgets on full display. We even see the return of the fan-favorite RC-XD, which is used to disable an entire cargo plane.

While Treyarch will still be heading up Black Ops Cold War, the campaign is being handled by Raven, which served as a support developer for past games. This new gameplay is the most comprehensive look we’ve had of the campaign so far. You can watch the full presentation above.

In addition to the new gameplay, Vondrak revealed that PS4 users will be able to download and play the multiplayer alpha this weekend. Access will be free (with exceptions in Germany and Japan) and will run from September 18-20. You’ll be able to pre-load the alpha beginning at 8 AM PT on September 17. This will be the first chance to play the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer early; there is a multiplayer beta scheduled for October.

You’re stuck in a village, there are vicious-looking werewolf people, and Chris Redfield is seemingly a very bad dude: welcome to Resident Evil 8, known as Resident Evil Village. We got another look at the game during Sony’s latest PS5 showcase, and although the trailer didn’t reveal much in the way of new story details, it did give off some serious Resident Evil 4 vibes.

You can check out the trailer from the showcase below, which seems to pick up where our last look at Resident Evil 8 left off–immediately after Chris Redfield seemingly kills off a key character from Resident Evil 7. Although we know this story seems to start with and revolve around this character’s death, the latest trailer gives the serious sense that they’ve still got a big role to play. Ethan, the protagonist of the last game, is also back to survive more monster-filled mysteries.

At the center of this new trailer is a voice-over from Ethan’s wife Mia as she tells a folklore-like story about a mother and daughter who head into the woods to gather berries for the girl’s father. During their hunt, the girl gets ahead of the mother and disappears into the woods. We don’t hear more than that, but it certainly sounds like nothing good happens after the girl vanishes into the forest. Given that the tale is cut with images of hairy, monster-like humans and occult-looking symbols, chances are pretty good you’re going to be dealing with whatever she met out there.

Capcom shared a little more detail on its website. After the tragedy that upends Ethan and Mia’s peaceful life together following the events of REVII, he’s drawn to the snowy village we see in the trailers. Here’s how Capcom’s post about the trailer describes it:

“While the village itself may look pristine from all the freshly fallen snow, disturbing events are happening just out of sight. Flickering movements catch the corners of Ethan’s eyes, while strange shapes loom on the horizon. It’s among the dilapidated sheds and houses that he may find his answers… or he may find something far more sinister. Strange creatures, odd symbols, and an unusual fairy tale all come together with the power of the RE Engine in the latest trailer to make Resident Evil Village a true showcase of next-generation survival horror.”

The trailer also ends on a pretty evocative image of a castle. The subtitle of “Village” has already made Resident Evil 8 feel like it has some factors in common with Resident Evil 4, which also took place in a rural European village and also prominently featured a spooky castle. Is that a coincidence, or do the two stories have more in common than we’ve been shown so far? Unfortunately, we’ll be waiting until sometime next year to find out.

During Sony’s latest PS5 event, we got another look at Oddworld Soulstorm. The new trailer showed a few short snippets of gameplay, revealing its 2D gameplay that looks reminiscent of the PS1 classic. Abe will continue to avoid all manners of dangerous obstacles, while working to save his people.

The game will make use of the DualSense controller to offer trigger resistance based on what Abe is doing in the environment and the struggles he’s facing. There’s also a new “scavenger’s economy” and crafting system to assist him on his journey, and you’ll be able to fully search the environment and even pickpocket people. You’ll see the consequences for your actions over time, so you best act carefully.

Unfortunately, no release date was revealed for Oddworld Soulstorm. The PS5, however, finally got release date and price details.

Since the announcement of the Xbox Series S, one of the questions about Microsoft’s cheaper, less-powerful console has been how it will handle next-generation games. Dirt 5 doesn’t entirely fit that bill, but its latest snippet of gameplay is the first footage from the Series S.

The footage itself isn’t all that exciting, showing off a cramped course with lots of brown walls and dimly let tunnels. When the racing does emerge into the sunlight, there’s some nice lighting details on mud puddles on the track and reflections on the interior of the car. Perhaps most importantly, it seems to run very smoothly.

Dirt 5 will support up to 120 FPS on the Xbox Series X, but developer Codemasters has not yet confirmed if that’s the case for the Series S too. Both consoles, equipped with HDMI 2.1, will support higher frame rates, with the Series X targeting 4K resolutions while the Series S limits that to 1440p. Both the Xbox Series X and Series S will launch on November 10, with Dirt 5 being delayed recently to secure itself a launch on the same day.
