New Version of Nintendo Switch Reportedly Planned for 2019
Nintendo is planning to release a new version of the Switch to maintain the console’s sales momentum, according to a new report from Wall Street Journal Japan. The unofficial report cites suppliers and “others with direct knowledge of the plan” as sources.
WSJ Japan’s sources reportedly told the publication that there are active discussions about new hardware and software functions and the cost to implement them – including upgrading the system’s “low-end” LCD display. The sources also indicated this new Switch could arrive in the second half of 2019, and perhaps as early as the Northern Hemisphere summer.

Free PS4 PS Plus Games For November 2018 Revealed
We might still be in the early days of October but Sony has revealed what games PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download for free and play on their PS4s come November. The official PlayStation website currently has a neat little graphic outing Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition and Yakuza Kiwami as November’s freebies.
There will likely be additional titles for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, but Bulletstorm and Yakuza Kiwami are the headliners. Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a remaster of the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC shooter developed by Epic Games and People Can Fly. It launched in April 2017 and received an 8/10 from GameSpot, with reviewer Scott Butterworth saying “the experience absolutely holds up.” He continued: “The skillshot system remains wildly fun and inventive, the weapons are still a gruesome joy, and the writing…well, it’s as distinctive as ever.” You can read the full Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition review for our full take.
Yakuza Kiwami is also another remake, this time of Sega’s PS2 classic. The new and improved version released in 2017 and was received well. In GameSpot’s Yakuza Kiwami review Peter Brown said it “does a great job as both a remake of the original Yakuza game and as a sequel to Zero. Despite that combat remains more of a bump in the road than a rewarding pursuit, it’s a no-brainer for existing fans of the series, and shouldn’t be overlooked by newcomers, even if Zero passed them by. There’s nothing else quite like Yakuza, and Kiwami isn’t afraid to show it.”
October’s title are currently available to download and include Friday the 13th: The Game and Laser League for PS4. Master Reboot is available for PS3, while Rocketbirds 2: Evolution, 2064: Read Only Memories, and The Bridge are available for PS Vita (and also PS4 via Cross Buy). First Look at Animated Harley Quinn Mocks Deadpool, DC Movies
Now that the DC Universe streaming service is moving full steam ahead, with the live-action Titans series debuting this month, IGN can confirm that Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco will executive produce and voice Harley Quinn in the previously announced animated series that will be headlined by the hugely popular character.
The show will depict what happens when Harley breaks off from the Joker and sets out to become the biggest villain there is, but even while it basically features all supervillains, Cuoco says to expect an animated “adult comedy.” At NYCC 2018, Warner Bros. Animation unveiled a special first look. Check out Harley in action, below:
“This show is kind of a very cool, modern take on Harley Quinn,” says Cuoco. “She’s such an iconic character that we’re excited to bring a much brighter and kind of, even the animation is very bright and modern and hip. And the character is very edgy. The storyline is very edgy and it’s definitely not a child’s show! It’s an adult comedy — I have to make sure I tell people that! — which has been a blast to work on. I’ve never experienced anything like this before. It’s been kind of a really cool gig.”
Star Wars Show from Iron Man Director Will Focus on Mandalorians
Jon Favreau has revealed that his live-action Star Wars series will focus on the Mandalorians.
A graphic shared on the Iron Man director’s Instagram revealed that the series will take place after the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, and will center on a “lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.”
“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett,” read the graphic, “another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic…”
World of Warcraft Executive Producer Becomes New President of Blizzard
Activision Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft executive producer J. Allen Brack has been appointed president of Blizzard Entertainment.
Brack will assume the role previously held by Mike Morhaime, who will remain at Blizzard as a “strategic advisor to the company.” Morhaime was a Co-Founder of Blizzard and has been with the company since its inception in 1991.
“J. is an inspiring leader who has shown unwavering commitment to Blizzard’s community in his 12 years with the company.” Morhaime said in a blogpost.
“His leadership on World of Warcraft leveraged his vision, creativity, and commitment to quality, and together with the rest of the dev team helped deliver an experience that is unprecedented in our industry. I couldn’t be happier for J. and know that Blizzard will continue to make great games with him at the helm.”
The Walking Dead Comic Still Drags
As long as The Walking Dead has been on the stands, I can’t be the first reviewer to make a lame joke about how the series is walking when it needs to be running. But that complaint really sums up all the comic’s woes at the moment. Once again, the newest issue showcases a promising status quo but fails to get the plot moving and begin that crucial next step.
If anything, issue #184 works to diffuse the tension built up in the previous chapter. The story opens with a riot as the citizens of the Commonwealth lash out at the police and Michonne is caught in the middle. That conflict gives the book exactly the adrenaline boost it’s been needing, but the chaos fades as quickly as it began after a handful of pages. Each month, the series circles a little closer to revealing the insidious truth about life in the Commonwealth, but each time it backs away before delving too deeply. There’s a sense that something big is brewing here. But even a year after this new setting and its cast of characters have been established, we barely seem any closer to the heart of this conflict.
