Sit down in this comfy sci-fi chair, won’t you, and plug in as we delve into our ancestral memories of IGN’s Assassin’s Creed reviews. From the 2007 original in which Altair first implausibly lept off a tall building into a tiny pile of hay to last year’s revitalizing Origins and now the absolutely massive Odyssey, Assassin’s Creed has had a pretty impressive 11-year run – including several spin-offs that didn’t go quite as well. What’s your favorite of the bunch?

Finding the right gaming mouse sometimes calls to mind the old adage of “needing to kiss a lot of frogs” until you find the perfect one. Human hands just run a gamut of sizes and that’s not even mentioning features worth of consideration like weight, palm support, DPI settings, etc. Acer is hoping to make that search a little easier with the Predator Cestus 500 (See it on Amazon), a wired optical mouse with an impressive level of ergonomic customization for both right- and left-handed users. I spent some time with this versatile mouse to see if it’s worthy of gracing your desktop.

Venom: Tom Hardy Says Over 30 Minutes Was Cut From the Movie
Venom, starring Tom Hardy, is set to be released this Friday, October 5, but will arrive without “30 to 40 minutes” of Venom scenes that may be Hardy’s favorites.
In an interview with ComicsExplained, Tom Hardy was asked “what was your favorite scene to film?” Hardy, Venom himself, replied:
“They’re scenes that aren’t in this movie. There are like 30 to 40 minutes worth of scenes that aren’t in this movie… all of them. Mad puppeteering scenes, dark comedy scenes. You know what I mean? They just never made it in.”
Co-star Riz Ahmed then jokes with him and says “If they didn’t make it into the film, they weren’t any good, bro. Alright, I hate to break it to you.”
FLCL: Alternative Episode 4 Review
Spoilers for the episode follow.
Following a series of episodes detailing the lives of Kana’s crew, FLCL: Alternative takes a detour back into romance territory with a love story between Kana and basketball manager Sasaki. Although this romance has been brewing for awhile, the message feels like a bit of a retread of the earlier saga with Hijiri. Still, “Pit-a-Pat” has some amusing moments, like the over the top basketball game, and even introduces some hints at what Medical Mechanica may be planning for the final two episodes.
The love triangle begins when Kana sees Haruko – who is posing as the basketball team’s new coach – aggressively flirting with Sasaki. Given Haruko’s history of toying with protagonists’ emotions it’s obvious what Haruko is after, but she can’t seem to crack Kana who simply runs away when the scene becomes too much for her. In the previous series Haruko has always abused the protagonist’s N.O. summons to fend off Medical Mechanica’s fierce machines as she searches for the ever-elusive Atomsk, but in this more subdued action-lite take on FLCL it’s unclear what her end goal is. That uncertainty is a little worrying with two episodes left in Alternative, but I hope to see a different goal from Haruko in her third confrontation with Medical Mechanica.

Fortnite’s Floating Island Is Moving, and Its Cube Is Set to Grow
Fortnite’s never-ending map changes that serve as its story are, unsurprisingly, continuing through Season 6. It looks like the focus this season will be on the floating island above Loot Lake, which EGM reports is on the move.
Season 5 ended when the giant purple cube having finished its own journey around the map by melting into Loot Lake.
Season 6 then began when the cube lifted the Loot Lake’s island into the sky. It now seems the cube is moving the island to each of the runes it created during Season 5 in reverse order.
In fact, Fortnite Master tweeted Sunday that the island had reached the first rune and raised the platform it resides on. This seemed to cause bouncy volcanic craters to appear in the corrupted area.
Netflix Will Air DC’s Titans Outside USA
Netflix has acquired the foreign streaming rights for DC Universe’s new Titans series. The series launches in the US on October 12, while the Netflix streaming deal gives DC a cash infusion to show it elsewhere, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series was originally developed for TNT, but then joined the newly launched DC Universe streaming service as its first scripted drama. It follows Robin as he steps out from the Bat-family to lead a new group of heroes, including superheroes Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy. DC Universe costs $8 per month, bringing together original television series, comics, and classic movies.
So far the service is in its infancy–it only launched last month–but we’ve been impressed by what seems like a solid start with room to grow. The model works similarly to CBS’ All Access, which offers Star Trek Discovery as an exclusive streaming show.
“DC Universe, as a beta, isn’t filled with too many bugs and actually works exceptionally well for something this large,” wrote Mat Efring. “The only real downside is the lack of certain content, specifically the DCEUDC extended cinematic universe movies. DC Universe will be a thrill to DC Comics readers and enthusiasts but doesn’t have that mass appeal it needs yet. Hopefully, that will change with the release of series like Titans.”
Pokemon Go: You Have A Little More Time To Hatch Region-Exclusive Pokemon From Eggs
Pokemon Go‘s Ultra Bonus Event has come to an end, but developer Niantic has extended one of the bonuses it offered. The studio announced that Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime, and Tauros will continue to hatch from 7 km Eggs until October 8, giving you a little more time to get your hands on these rare Pokemon.
What makes these four monsters particularly desirable is that each one is normally exclusive to a certain region. Tauros can only be found in North America; Mr. Mime only appears throughout Europe; Kangaskhan is primarily found in Australia; and Farfetch’d is limited to Asia.
To add any of these Pokemon to your collection, you’d typically have to either travel to said regions or trade with someone who has already captured them, but even the latter option requires both players to meet in-person. Thanks to this bonus, you’ll have a chance of hatching the monsters from 7 km Eggs–the same type of Eggs that are also capable of hatching Alolan variants.
In addition to that, Pokemon Go players still have a chance to capture Mewtwo. The Legendary Psychic Pokemon began appearing in standard Raid Battles for the first time on September 20, shortly after Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres left the game. Mewtwo will remain a Raid Boss until October 23. Meanwhile, the Mythical Pokemon Deoxys has begun appearing in EX Raids, an exclusive type of Raid Battles that require an invitation.
Pokemon Go’s next Community Day event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 21. The featured Pokemon this month will be Beldum. While Niantic has yet to announce what special move it will be able to learn during the event, it will presumably be Metagross’s signature attack Meteor Mash, which was recently discovered by dataminers in the game’s code.
