Disney Pushes Live-Action Mulan Release Date

Disney is shuffling the release dates of several live-action movies.

The company announced today that the live-action remake of Mulan will hit theaters on March 27, 2020, according to Variety. That’s almost a year-and-a-half later than the original release date of November 2, 2018.

Disney also pulled the Anna Kendrick-starring Nicole, which tells the story of a female Santa Claus. The movie had been set for release on November 8, 2019. An untitled live-action movie also saw its release date shift from April 3, 2020, to May 29.

Trump to Meet With Video Game Industry Execs

President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with “members of the video game industry” next week to discuss violence in games. The announcement comes a week after Trump suggested a link between violent video games and youth violence.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced the meeting during a press briefing earlier today (via NBC News’ Peter Alexander on Twitter). There’s no word on which companies will be represented at the meeting or what specifically will be discussed.

EA had no comment on whether its executives would be meeting with Trump when reached for comment by IGN.

Monster Hunter World’s Latest Event Quest Adds A Really Weird Helmet

On top of the second Horizon Zero Dawn event that’s now underway on PS4, a new limited-time quest is set to begin very soon in Monster Hunter World. Capcom is kicking off the Wiggle Me This Event Quest on both PS4 and Xbox One later today, March 1, and it gives players a chance to create a rather…distinctive headpiece.

The Wiggle Me This event runs until March 8. It’s a six-star quest set in the Coral Highlands, and it requires a Hunter rank of 11 or higher to accept. Rather than having to slay a specific monster, the object of this mission is to deliver 10 Wigglers, the slender, worm-like creatures you can find protruding from the ground in the Highlands.

Capcom hasn’t detailed what materials you’ll be rewarded with for completing the quest, but the publisher did show off the helmet that they’re used to forge, and it fittingly resembles a Wiggler, complete with an elongated neck and button eyes. You can take a look at the Wiggler helmet below.

Players who picked up Monster Hunter World on PS4 can now take part in the second Horizon-inspired Event Quest, The Proving. That mission follows Lesson of the Wild, which ended on February 8 and rewarded players with materials to create a set of Watcher Palico armor. The Proving will be available until March 15; the reward for completing it is materials to create Horizon protagonist Aloy’s armor and bow. You can see exactly how to unlock the Aloy armor and bow in our guide.

Capcom has posted the full schedule of Monster Hunter World’s Event Quests on the game’s official website. In addition to those, players will soon be able to take part in a Street Fighter V crossover event and create Ryu and Sakura costumes. The former was briefly available early for PS4 players who have Street Fighter V save data on their consoles.

Xbox Live Is Pretty Broken Right Now

Xbox Live is facing some big issues right now. The service is facing “Social and Gaming” issues currently, which means that in-game matchmaking, cloud storage, finding friends, Game DVR, leaderboards, avatar editing, and more services are not working normally.

Additionally, while the Xbox Live Status page says Xbox Live Core Services like signing in is working normally, your mileage may vary. At GameSpot Australia, we have been unable to sign into the network for 10 minutes now. Looking at Twitter shows that many other people around the world are having issues logging into Xbox Live right now. The issues appear to be affecting Xbox One and Xbox 360.

A number of games are affected by this newest Xbox Live outage, including Rainbow Six Siege, Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, and Super Street Fighter IV.

We’ll report back with more details on the Xbox Live issues as they come to light. If you’re running into problems right now, let us know what you’re facing in the comments below.

Sea of Thieves Holding Another Test This Weekend

Sea of Thieves will offer another Scale Test on PC and Xbox One this weekend, so you’ll have at least one more chance to feel the virtual salty sea air before its impending launch. The test will begin on Friday, March 2 at 2 a.m. PST and end on Sunday, March 4 at 2 a.m. PST.

Keep in mind, though, that developer Rare intends this test to be a real stress test for the game. Not only will the studio be attempting to put Sea of Thieves through its paces, it will actually be throwing wrenches (or scabbards) into the works intentionally. According to the announcement, “[W]e will also purposefully be stressing our services by throttling performance at certain times, testing the game in different data centres around the world, and simulating deliberate outages.” So if you run into trouble, it’s not you, it’s them.

The test will be available for those who pre-ordered or signed up for the Insider Program. As in the previous beta last month, this test will be limited to the Voyages of the Gold Hoarders trading company. That beta was a make-good for the server issues from the January beta.

Sea of Thieves is set to release in just a few short weeks, on March 20. It will be one of the first big tests of Microsoft’s ambitious Game Pass expansion, which gives subscribers access to a suite of games including all first-party titles on day-and-date of release. While you’re waiting to explore the briny deep, check out 10 reasons we’re excited and why we think it has such potential.
