Incredibles 2 Poster Teases New Supers; New Trailer Debuts

A new poster for the upcoming Incredibles 2 has arrived, and it’s loaded with hints about the new movie–including a bunch of new characters. What’s more, the poster precedes a new trailer for the Pixar film, which will release tomorrow (April 13). [Update: The new trailer has arrived!]

The poster, which you can see below, features the first movie’s superheroes springing into action, plus baby Jack-Jack using his superpowers to make life miserable for a raccoon. Additionally, a new villain looms over the movie’s logo. What’s most interesting is the characters hiding in the background, though.

If you look behind the Incredibles, Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) and Edna, a new group of supers can be seen standing in front of an explosion. The names of these characters have not been revealed, but they certainly look like an interesting team of heroes in their own right.

What role they’ll play in the movie is a mystery, but it’s exciting to see that Pixar is expanding this universe of superheroes. After all, more heroes could mean more story possibilities.

Hopefully, when the new trailer arrives, it’ll offer some clues about these new supers and the villain causing so much trouble. Incredibles 2 hits theaters on June 15.

Logitech has given its newest gaming headset the simple moniker of Pro (See it on BestBuy), foregoing some bells and whistles in favor of a more streamlined device aimed at eSports enthusiasts. With a lightweight design, cross-platform compatibility, decent audio quality and a “pro” microphone, it’s a headset with a pretty simple feature set.Despite its stripped-down design, it’s still kind of expensive at $90, especially since it’s a wired stereo headset. That said, Logitech says it’s perfect for eSports or gamers who just want to use “pro” equipment. I tested them out to see how they stack up.

Monster Hunter World’s New Mega Man Armor And Weapon Now Available

Monster Hunter World’s New Mega Man Armor And Weapon Now Available

A new PS4 and Xbox One quest lets you get your hands on Mega Man Tickets to craft a cool new look (and weapon) for your Palico companion.

Monster Hunter World‘s Spring Blossom Fest rolls on. It’s already introduced new content and brought back some special, limited-time quests, but now we’ve gotten special crossover gear that you can craft for your Palico–letting them dress up like Mega Man.

We have a guide on how to get the Mega Man gear on PS4 and Xbox One, but it all involves grinding out an event quest that is available for a limited time. In the video above, we run through that mission, which takes the form of an Arena where you take on two Odagarons. While that sounds rote on paper, reality is a bit different, as one of the two monsters is a much smaller version of what you’re used to fighting. It’s actually a bit upsetting–it’s kind of cute!–but when you see how it clips through the ground due to its small size, you might not feel as bad about wailing on it with your weapon of choice.

In addition to seeing the Odagaron fight, you can also see what it’s like to have your Palico in the full Mega Man setup. This consists of a two-piece full armor set (like the Street Fighter gear for players, it can’t be equipped individually) and an accompanying weapon. During the event quest, you’ll hear special Mega Man music with this gear equipped depending on the weapon you’re using. That was first teased during the announcement of the gear last year, though we’ve only just now learned that you can’t hear the music while on standard missions.

The quest to get the Mega Man Tickets necessary to craft the new gear is only available for a limited time–it runs from now until April 27. The Spring Blossom Fest, meanwhile, ends on April 19.

It’s Friday The 13th, So Get The First 8 Movies For $13 In The US

Have you heard? It’s Friday the 13th weekend, which means you’re almost contractually obligated to indulge in a horror movie marathon tonight. The people at Microsoft would like to lend you a hand–or a machete, as the case may be. This weekend, you can buy Friday the 13th parts 1 – 8 for $13 on the Microsoft Store. Hurry, though, because the deal ends Sunday.

It’s a particularly good bargain, considering that the collection normally costs $104. To watch the movies, you’ll need a device that lets you log into your Microsoft account. That means you’ll need something like an Xbox One, computer, tablet, or phone. If you prefer using Vudu, you can buy the same set of movies for $20 here.

The movies, which came out between 1980 and 1989, have their ups and downs in terms of quality. Not that that really matters, since half the enjoyment of marathoning the franchise is poking fun at the hopelessly dated parts that are laughable today.

Even so, it’s always fun to get friends together to watch the masked killer cut down groups of teenagers before supposedly dying, only to come back in the sequel. We’ve even ranked each Friday the 13th film by kill count.

If binge-watching these movies inspires you to play the game, read our Friday the 13th review before you dive in. Just note that it’s received a number of updates and expansions since it launched last summer.

New Fortnite Update Released, Here’s What It Does

Fortnite has another update available right now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile. Version 3.5.1 aims to address a few issues with the game’s previous patch, version 3.5, and as such is limited to bug fixes. In other words, no jetpack.

In particular, the new replay system caused some problems whereby players’ games could crash. These problems have now been addressed, according to developer Epic Games’ official patch notes. Meanwhile an issue where players could fire weapons before the equip animation had finished under some circumstances has also now been resolved.

In Save the World, Epic has changed the way it converts event tickets into Llamas. From now on, players will receive one event Llama for every 1000 tickets; for any additional tickets above 1000, you’ll receive one extra Llama regardless of how many extra tickets you have. The developer has also granted all Save the World players two Spring Llamas for free. Take a look at all the patch notes at the bottom of this article, via Epic.

More free Fortnite items are now available as an apology from Epic for the game’s recent server problems. This weekend, Battle Royale players can get a free Back Bling item (a new type of customization slot added for Season 3), which is pictured below. Also this weekend, Save the World players can grab a Troll Stash Llama. Both of these will be available from the respective modes’ in-game stores. In addition, Battle Royale players will receive a “pack of Battle Stars,” which are used to rank up the Battle Pass and earn rewards.

There’s still no word on when the removed Guided Missile weapon will return to Fortnite: Battle Royale, but the game is at least playable once again. That’s good news, as the 3.5 update introduced a new Port-a-Fort item and made a variety of other changes. Week 8 challenges are also now available, although the server issues have prompted Epic to delay the release of the new 50v50 limited-time mode until next week.

Fortnite Update 3.5.1 Patch Notes

Save The World Bug Fixes

  • ‘Building Edit’ hotkey can be bound to keys other than ‘G’
  • We’re changing the Mini-Boss Mission Alerts for Canny and Twine back to their pre v3.5 state.
  • ‘Repair the Shelter’ objective now activates when you interact with the control panel rather than be based on proximity to the objective.
  • Granted all players two free Spring Llamas (can be found in the Loot tab).
    • We’ve changed the way we convert event tickets. Players get 1 event Llama per 1000 tickets and 1 Llama for any tickets left over.
      • (Example) If you have 5 tickets left at the end of the event, you still get 1 free event Llama.

Battle Royale Bug Fixes

  • ‘Building Edit’ hotkey can be bound to keys other than ‘G’
  • Fixed an issue where players could fire weapons before the equip animation had finished, if they were sprinting.
  • Fixed several client crashes that were related to the new Replay System.
  • Fixed an issue that broke player’s walking/sprinting animations if they were firing a Guided Missile while walking/sprinting.

PS4 Flash Sale On PlayStation Store In The US

As Sony likes to do every month or so, it has just unveiled a new Flash Sale on the PlayStation Store. Between now and April 16, you can get a good number of games at heavily discounted rates. It’s Friday the 13th weekend, so it’s no surprise the theme is horror. Read on to see what standout games are on sale this weekend. Just make sure to lock in your purchases before the sale ends on April 16.

The game that resembles a horror movie most closely is Until Dawn, a cinematic adventure game about a group of teens staying at a cabin in the woods. It’s on sale for $6 (down from $20). If you haven’t played The Last of Us Remastered, you’ll almost certainly enjoy its cinematic bonafides as you fight nightmare creatures in a post-apocalyptic world. It’s on sale for $8 (regularly $20), and its Left Behind expansion is down to $4 (from $10).

The Evil Within 2 ($30 instead of $60) and Outlast 2 ($12, down from $30) both bring the spooks by dropping you in regions haunted by supernatural horrors. The BioShock Collection ($20, down from $60) and Soma ($8, regularly $30) are frightening games about big ideas, and both feature claustrophobic underwater settings. Alien: Isolation has a sealed-in setting of its own in the form of a space station. It’s on sale for $9, instead of its usual $30. Another space horror game, Prey, is on sale for half off at $20.

A number of dark indie games are also on sale. Inside is $8 (was $20), while Limbo is $2 (down from $10). The spooky narrative-heavy Oxenfree is $5 (down from $20), while the ultra-challening Darkest Dungeon is $10 (down from $25). The rhythm-roguelike Crypt of the Necrodancer is $3 (was $15).

If mind-bending games that are only occasionally horrific are more your speed–and you don’t mind reading a lot of text–check out the collection Zero Escape: The Nonary Games ($20, down from $50) and its sequel Zero Time Dilemma ($16, down from $40).

If you have a PSVR headset lying around, you may want to check out The Inpatient or the zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine, both $16 (down from $40), or The Invisible Hours for $12 (down from $30).

Perhaps you’re in the mood to revisit some PS One classics (or see what all the older gamers are talking about). Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is on sale for $3, while the original Silent Hill and a few early Resident Evil games are down to around $2 each. Unfortunately those aren’t playable on PS4, but you can play them on PS3, PS Vita, or PSP.

Visit the Flash Sale page on the PlayStation Store for the full list. All in all, this is a pretty killer sale for anyone looking to add some horror to their Friday the 13th weekend.

That means not only more movies, but so many opportunities to put Spider-Man’s face or Captain America’s iconic shield on any number of products. So what can you purchase? Come along as GameSpot looks back on the very strange history of some of Marvel’s most bizarre products ever made.

From Marvel To DC: Brian Michael Bendis On His Decision To Switch Publishers

One of the biggest creator moves in modern comic history was when Brian Michael Bendis left Marvel Comics to work at DC. It was a shock to longtime readers and became one of the most talked about comic book industry stories in 2017. But why did Bendis make the leap and how did it happen?

During C2E2, Chicago’s comic book convention, GameSpot spoke with Bendis about his departure from Marvel, while discussing his upcoming work on Action Comics #1000 (which releases on April 18). This will be his second published work from DC, with the first being a short story in The Batman Chronicles #21 back in 2000. In addition, he’ll also be working on the upcoming miniseries Man of Steel, which will be a lead in to the newly launched Superman series in May. Then, in July, Bendis will also pen Action Comics as well as a part of his Jinxworld series (some of which were published under the Marvel imprint Icon).

Needless to say, Bendis continues to have a full plate now he’s at DC. However, getting there was a matter of timing and making sure it was right for him. “A few years ago, we talked to [co-publishers] Jim [Lee] and Dan [Didio] about maybe coming over, and they had made a very lovely offer, but it wasn’t an offer that was worth going to my friends [at Marvel],” explained Bendis. “I have very good friends at Marvel who would be happy for me in success, but at the same time, we’re partners, and we’re in the middle of something, so I felt if I was gonna come up to Joe [Quesada, Marvel’s CCO] and say, ‘Listen, I’m gonna go over there,’ it had to be an offer that he would go, ‘Oh yeah! You should go over.’

“And so we talked, and at the same time, I have to say they were really close; ‘I don’t think I’m done. I wanna do Defenders.’ And so I said to [DC], ‘Thanks, but I’m gonna stay [at Marvel].’ …We were struggling to find what I would do next, with this new contract. And again, Marvel had offered me a contract. They had offered me books. They were so nice. They never blinked and made it very clear that I am there as long as I wanna be there.”

Bendis continued his conversations with DC, while still working at Marvel. This time, it was with Diane Nelson, the President of DC Entertainment, who reached out to him numerous times. “I answered her back and said, ‘All right. What do you got? What are you thinking of? What is it?’ So, they came, and they brought enough of a meaningful partnership, with the creator owned and imprint [Jinxworld] and other things that we have coming. And then, I could call up my friends and go, ‘I am shocked this day is coming as well.’ I am not mad at anyone. I am not leaving in a huff. Even that, you couldn’t help but think of the history of comics, of both Marvel and DC. Most people leave in a huff. They don’t leave in a huff after [one] year, they leave in a huff in 20 years, 30 years, 40 years. I don’t wanna leave in a huff. Not everyone has, but a lot, more people have than haven’t.”

“It’s just like any job. It’s a job. You’re going to lose your job eventually. It’s a job that you have and that someone else will have. So, I’m like, can I do that? Can I leave without making anyone mad? …Can we leave on a nice note and keep it that way and can I remind you that I’ve always said I don’t think we’re in competition, Marvel and DC? I think we’re the glue that holds the industry together but the key person for the craft. It is the medium that needs us, right? So we’re not in competition.”

Bendis went on to discuss his early, lighthearted discussions with Didio. And the DC co-publisher recounted his meetings with Jim Lee about Bendis working on Daredevil in 2012 for the End of Days miniseries, the writer’s second run with the character. The publisher wanted Bendis then to work at DC, but the timing wasn’t right.

When the announcement was made in November 2017 that Bendis was headed to DC, he didn’t think it would be a big deal. “When we made the announcement I was still thinking, ‘This might be only interesting to me,'” explained Bendis. “People were like, ‘Oh this is gonna be like John Byrne. It’s gonna be crazy,’ and I go, ‘That was a long time ago and things are different.’

“We live in a different world, and the media is different, and we have a President that gets up every morning and says something s****y, and then there’s no room for anyone else to promote anything because the President farted, and that’s it, right? So I always kept warning people, ‘Listen, I don’t know how this is going to play outside of the comics world.’

“I know the comics world. Yeah, I get that totally, but I don’t know if it’s gonna go out like John Byrne did, so we announced, and then I went to bed. It was six in the morning, and I went, ‘Let’s just go to sleep,’ and that whole craziness, the trending and everything like that. I slept through all of it, which was my most accidental badass thing I’ve ever done. I did it because I was mentally and physically exhausted, and I was so concerned about my friendships and who didn’t I, who did I forget to tell before it was announced?

“I had a lot of anxiety and when I woke up in the morning, when I woke up in the afternoon to that great quote from Phil Hester. He goes, ‘Brian, you are an author, in 2017, who’s trending, and you didn’t die or embarrass yourself or others.’ I’m gonna own that one. I rarely take a compliment, but I’m gonna take that one.”
