Last Chance For Free Xbox One Games With Gold

We’re coming up on the halfway point of the month, which means two of April’s free Games with Gold will be going back to their regular price. Time’s running out to grab them for free, so make sure to hit that download button before the sun sets on April 15.

On Xbox One, the holdover from March’s Games With Gold is Superhot, the inventive shooter in which time only moves when your character moves. It’s still available for free through April 15. Over on Xbox 360, Cars 2 will go back to its regular price the same day. As a reminder, you can play all Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One, thanks to the magic of backwards compatibility.

Though it’s a bummer to see those two games go, we can look forward to downloading two new free games starting April 16. And they’re particularly great games, too. On Xbox One, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate joins Games with Gold; it will be free until May 15. The Xbox 360 game going free on April 16 is the fantastic horror shooter Dead Space 2. It will be free through April 30, and will also be playable on Xbox One. Also, The Witness is free throughout all of April.

You can find the full list of April’s free Games with Gold below. And if you’re looking to save money on other games, check out the Xbox One games that are currently on sale, including Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Halo 5: Guardians.

It’s Time For You To Play A Yakuza Game

It’s Time For You To Play A Yakuza Game

With Yakuza 6: The Song of Life for PS4 upon us, Michael, Ben, and Jean-Luc talk about what makes Yakuza so great and why you need to play this underrated series.

With the final chapter closing on the story of our beloved friend Kazuma Kiryu in Yakuza 6: The Song Of Life for PlayStation 4, we realized that the long-running series deserves to be experienced by a wider audience. In the West, it all began in 2006 with the release of the first Yakuza on PlayStation 2, but over the course of seven games in the span of 12 years, we saw our favorite characters grow and overcome the hardest of times. But that’s not to say they didn’t have fun along the way. The Yakuza series perfectly captures an unlikely balance of absurdity and melodrama that has brought a few tears to our eyes, either from laughing uncontrollably or lamenting the death of an important character. There’s no denying that Yakuza has heart.

GameSpot’s own Jean-Luc Seipke, Ben Janca, and Michael Higham have a little discussion about what makes Yakuza so special to them and why those on the outside should jump into this wild series now. Have you ever wanted to beat up a mob boss that betrayed you, save someone’s life, sing karaoke, hit the club to dance with a Michael Jackson stand-in, and race RC cars all in the same day? Yakuza has you covered.

Four Yakuza games will have come to the West over a two year period. 2017’s Yakuza 0 brought a new wave of interest by embodying exactly what the franchise has been all about while giving newcomers a perfect jumping on point. The very first game received a faithful reimagination in Yakuza Kiwami that also released in 2017 and brought many of the elements we’ve come to expect from modern games. And while Yakuza Kiwami 2 looks to be an amazing recreation of the second entry and Yakuza 3through5 hold up well today, the upcoming release of Yakuza 6: The Song Of Life prompted us to convince the world that this is a series worth playing from start to finish.

13 PlayStation One Remasters We Want To See

Nostalgia is rife in 2018. People go crazy about Nintendo’s Virtual Console games and about “new” games being added to Xbox One’s compatibility program. Recently, Sony has been focusing in on taking its most iconic PS1 properties and finding ways to remake or remaster them.

Whether it’s the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, or MediEvil, or the recently announced Spyro Reignited Trilogy, old games are being given proverbial new licks of paint at every turn. And this got us thinking: which old PS1 games would we want ported to current-gen with all the online bells and anti-aliasing whistles that new technology brings?

Many of our choices include some of the most iconic franchises from the era, while the others are more obscure or long-forgotten. When we compiled this list, it surprised us remembering just how many fantastic games came out on PlayStation’s inaugural console; it was tough to narrow it all down.

Read on for our personal choices of favorite games from our respective childhoods that we want. What we highlight here is but a handful of the many fantastic games available on the console, so be sure to leave your suggestions and wishes of games you don’t see here in the comments below!

My Hero Academia Episode 40 Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

After a slightly underwhelming, flashback-heavy premiere, “Wild, Wild Pussycats” picks up the momentum and pushes Season 3 of My Hero Academia forward with a solid blend of comedy and action as the students of UA High begin their summer training camp.

The standout sequence of “Wild, Wild Pussycats” is without question the students’ journey through the Beast’s Forest. It gives nearly every member of Class 1-A a brief moment to shine. For example, it was great to finally see a little more of Jiro, who uses her earphone jack Quirk to figure out how many enemies are coming.
