Darksiders 3, Biomutant Publisher Skipping E3 – to Watch the World Cup

Darksiders 3 and Biomutant publisher THQ Nordic is skipping E3…because its employees have plans to watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The company announced via a recent blog post it won’t attend E3 2018 because it doesn’t want to miss one of the biggest sporting events, which kicks off in Russia on June 14. E3 2018 takes place from June 12-14 in Los Angeles.

THQ Nordic will instead show its upcoming game lineup, including Darksiders 3, Biomutant, Wreckfest, and Fade to Silence at other events later this year. This includes Gamescom, which takes place in Cologne, Germany from August 21-25, and at PAX West in Seattle, taking place from September 1-4.

The Sandlot: What a 25 Year Old Movie About a Baseball Has in Common with Stranger Things

If you asked the average kid what they think “America’s pastime” is, what kind of answer do you think you would get? Maybe they would talk about the Super Bowl and how they love gathering up their friends and family on the biggest day for sports of the year. Maybe they would talk about basketball and which players had been heard talking smack in the locker room that week, retweeting favorite blurbs to their followers. Maybe they would even talk about eSports, and how loading up their favorite Fortnite streamer to keep them company as they finish their homework is more appealing these days than a hot dog in one hand, and their toes in the other during the 7th inning stretch.

Terraria: Otherworld Officially Cancelled

Terraria: Otherworld has been cancelled.

Re-Logic made the announcement on Terraria’s official forum, stating it the decision stems from the fact the game is “equal parts far from

vision and beyond behind schedule.”

Otherworld was originally announced three years ago, and although the team confirms it has “absolutely made progress during that time,” in a recent status review of the game Re-Logic and 505/Pipeworks determined the game was so far from completion, in both work and time, it would “greatly interfere” with the studio’s other projects, which would land the team in “a very undesirable state.”

Call of Duty: WW2 – The War Machine DLC Review

The War Machine is Call of Duty: WW2’s second multiplayer DLC, and among its four maps and a Zombies expansion, there are more winners than losers. Its new content ranges from an excellent new standard multiplayer map and Zombies Easter egg challenge all the way down to some maps prone to miserably unbalanced spawn camping and a dogfight without enough room to spread your wings, which makes this an inconsistent but overall worthwhile expansion.

Of the three new core multiplayer maps, Egypt stands out as the best and one I’m always hoping for to pop up in the rotation. For all its narrow corridors through ancient ruins, Egypt still has plenty of space on the two outer lanes for long-ranged shootouts. I rarely played a game where engagements were limited to one part of the map, and I enjoyed seeing how every person made their own playstyle work here. In one game I was up against an incredible sniper who used the many pillars and entryways as cover while picking off my team. In that same game I encountered a person who was able to successfully run through most of the map with the shovel. Regardless of loadout, Egypt offers a great playground for hide and seek with plenty of options for tactical flanking and escapes thanks to its abundance of cover.

Far Cry 5: Prepare To DIE – The Best Arcade Maps This Week

Far Cry 5: Prepare To DIE – The Best Arcade Maps This Week

The maps are starting to get really good! Jake and Joey dig through more of the PS4, Xbox One, and PC game’s Arcade mode to find you some of the best maps!

This week’s Far Cry 5 live event rewards you for playing in Arcade Mode, but maybe you’re just getting started and you have no idea where to look. Fortunately, we have you covered. Our latest look at the best Arcade maps with Jacob Dekker and Joey Yee highlight some of the community’s coolest creations.

It starts with Assault Garage, a well-designed map without a lot of bells, whistles, or gimmicks. Sometimes you just want to play Far Cry 5 to get more sandbox combat action, and this one delivers. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Shovel Souls. This map pays homage to Dark Souls with limited weaponry and even a tough boss fight. A Portal-inspired puzzle parkour challenge tests the limits of first-person precision jumping. It all wraps up with Favre Town, a nicely expansive map that explores two separate locations.

It’s a nice mix that shows the flexibility of Far Cry 5’s map editing tools. If you play these stages (or any others) for 40 minutes by April 17, you’ll have completed the “Arcade Dawn” event. Your reward for participating is a Vector .45 ACP, and the Community Reward is a matching Arcade Pro outfit. As usual, you’ll also get Silver Bars for progression through the live event.
