Rampage Earns $2.4 Million in Thursday Previews

Rampage earned $2.4 million in Thursday night previews at the domestic box office.

According to Deadline, a large portion of last night’s audience was made up of younger filmgoers, ages 12-16.

The video game-inspired film is the third Dwayne Johnson-led movie directed by Brad Peyton. Previously, the two worked together on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and San Andreas, the latter of which made $3.1 million in Thursday previews when it debuted in 2015.

Rampage is expected to dethrone A Quiet Place and top the domestic box office this weekend with upwards of $40 million. Meanwhile, John Krasinski’s horror film is projected to make somewhere in the low $30 million range over its second weekend. A Quiet Place surpassed expectations last weekend with 2018’s second biggest domestic debut so far.

Xbox Live achievements are coming to the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft.

Content creator Patrick Maka, who first spotted the list of Xbox Live achievements, shared his discovery on Twitter. The list of achievements, courtesy of True Achievements, appear identical to the Xbox versions of the popular title.

A Minecraft representative has since confirmed to Polygon the achievements will be added once the Bedrock update is released. “We can confirm that Minecraft players on Nintendo Switch will soon be able to earn achievements tied to Xbox Live once the Bedrock update is released,” the spokesperson said.

Gotham Pulls the Old Joker Switcheroo…and it’s a Bummer

Last week, I wrote about how Gotham was most likely leading us into an unnecessary Joker swap. The introduction of Jerome’s twin brother, Jeremiah (also played by Cameron Monaghan), seemed to suggest the series was returning to its initial playbook of “Jerome’s just a proto-Joker,” despite fans fully coming to accept Jerome, over the past couple seasons, as the perfect “Joker” for this TV universe.

Gotham had not only brought Jerome back for several memorable storylines, since his introduction in the back half of Season 1, but the show went so far as to kill him…and bring him back to life.

Sea Of Thieves Updates Detailed, Will Bring Free New Content

Rare has issued a roadmap detailing its upcoming plans for Sea of Thieves on Xbox One and PC. The centerpiece of the plan includes big content updates through the rest of the year. Those big updates will be supplemented by regular weekly events with new goals and rewards. The weekly updates and regular content updates will be available for free.

The first big update, coming this May, is called The Hungering Deep. It will add a new AI threat, as well as new mechanics and rewards. This summer, the Cursed Sails update will include a new ship type, and then Forsaken Shores will add a new area to the map. After that, three more updates are planned for release by the end of 2018.

The studio stressed that its plans will evolve based on feedback. Other systems it planned to introduce within a few months of launch–such as Pets and Ship Captaincy–have been placed on the back-burner due to other priorities. “Expect our plans to continue to be fluid but always with the goals listed above as our guiding principles,” the update read.

Rare has already shown some capacity for rolling with the punches, as it dropped a planned death penalty feature shortly after announcing it. It has been supporting the game with regular patches, mostly to fix bugs and performance issues so far, but now we know it has much bigger plans than that. It’s a good sign for a game that was criticized in GameSpot’s review for feeling repetitive and light. If the promise of regular updates is enough to bring you aboard, check out some tips on things to know before you set sail.

All Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies Ranked From Worst To Best

All Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies Ranked From Worst To Best

Avengers: Infinity War’s release is nearly here. We’re so excited that we’ve re-watched the entire saga and ranked our favorite films across the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is vast. With the release of Avengers: Infinity War, it will comprise 19 films, and even more are on the way. Attempting to create this interconnected series of films that both function on their own but also crossover with each other has been an ambitious undertaking. Infinity War will be the culmination of everything we’ve seen so far, introducing characters to each other–like Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy–who have yet to cross paths.

This will mean bringing together elements of the best and worst movies released since Iron Man in 2008. And to be clear, for all the great movies the MCU has generated, there have been some lesser entries as well. We’ve gathered the opinions and rankings of the GameSpot Universe team to assemble a ranked list of every MCU movie to date, from the aforementioned Iron Man up through 2018’s record-breaking Black Panther.

It might not surprise you to see The Incredible Hulk come in at the bottom of our list. Although it’s a part of the MCU, it’s been somewhat forgotten due to a combination of its age, quality, and casting–it features Ed Norton as Bruce Banner, whereas subsequent films have featured Mark Ruffalo in that role.

You also may not be surprised to see the wide spread with the Thor movies. While the original and The Dark World have been maligned, Ragnarok proved to win over many with its more comical spin on the Thor character, drawing on the acclaimed Planet Hulk comics.

Check out the video for our full rankings and thoughts on each film, and be sure to let us know in the comments below what your favorites (and least favorites are). With so much to keep track of, we can also help you get prepared for Infinity War with a recap of the Marvel films to date. We also have some thoughts on who will live and die in Infinity War.

WWE: Undertaker Dream Match Added To Greatest Royal Rumble

When WWE first started announcing matches for the upcoming Greatest Royal Rumble, which will take place in Saudi Arabia later in April, it was revealed that The Undertaker would once again return to the ring. After a quick victory over John Cena at Wrestlemania 34–following what is arguably the worst-booked story of the entire show–the Deadman was set to face Rusev in a casket match.

That was a questionable announcement, given Rusev’s growing popularity. Were fans willing to boo him against The Undertaker? Is a loss to the Phenom what that particular character needs at this point? The answer to both questions, most likely, was no. However, WWE has now changed that match. Rusev is out, Chris Jericho is in. For his part, Rusev seems disappointed in the decision, tweeting, “Bury me softly, brother.” He also alluded to the reports that his time in WWE could be coming to an end, writing, “Life is life….. it will be [Rusev Day] somewhere.”

Jericho is the chosen one for this particular match, though. After making his last WWE appearance on the Raw 25th-anniversary special, self-proclaimed G.O.A.T. will now face Undertaker in the casket match and it’s a really smart decision. Time and again, Jericho has proven he can excel as a hero and villain, easily weaving between the two depending on who his opponent is on any given day.

And in no time at all, Jericho has always begun slipping into his villainous role on Instagram, writing, “The last time I was in the ring with [The Undertaker], I beat him for the [WWE] world title. In a few weeks at the [Greatest Royal Rumble], I’m gonna beat him again and BURY his ass.”

What’s so exciting about this match is that it is a largely unknown quantity. While Jericho and Undertaker have worked together a number of times in multiple-man matches, they’ve only had a single televised one-on-one encounter. It was in 2009 when they faced off on an episode of Smackdown. The Undertaker left as the victor, but the fans left dying for more.

Now, nearly a decade later, they’re going to get it when Chris Jericho and The Undertaker face off in a casket match at the Greatest Royal Rumble. And as if that’s not enough, the rest of the card is worthy of its own Wrestlemania. With matches like John Cena vs. Triple H, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns in a steel cage, and AJ Styles defending his WWE Championship, the night is bound to be full of surprises–and that’s before you consider the biggest Royal Rumble match of all time, with 50 WWE superstars partaking.

The Greatest Royal Rumble will air live on the WWE Network at 12 PM ET on Friday, April 27.
