Stranger Things Is ‘Definitely’ Getting a Fourth Season

Stranger Things producer and director Shawn Levy has confirmed the Netflix show will get a fourth season, with the possibility of a fifth to follow.

“I mean I will say we have a good sense of stuff that happens in Season Four. Season Four is definitely happening,” Levy told Collider. “There’s very much the possibility of a season beyond that one, that’s currently undecided.”

Stranger Things was renewed for a third season at the end of last year and filming kicked off earlier this week. The first four scripts for the season have been written, with the rest getting written as they shoot.

Yes, Tom Hardy Voices Venom in the New Trailer

Tom Hardy is pulling double duty in Sony’s upcoming Venom film, as both journalist Eddie Brock and the voice of the titular monster.

When the second trailer dropped following a footage presentation at the Las Vegas-based CinemaCon event, some audience members seemed to question whether the deep, gravelly voice of the symbiote was an entirely separate actor. Nope, that’s still Hardy doing his thing. The actor has a history of including distinct voices in his roles. He voiced a Storm Trooper in Star Wars: The Last Jedi last year with an odd Southern drawl that was cut from the film, and who could forget that Bane performance in The Dark Knight Rises? Check out the finally revealed Venom voice in the trailer below:

StarCraft 2 Adds Community Map Store 9 Years After Promising It

Blizzard has finally launched Premium Arcade, a community-driven map store, for StarCraft 2, nine years after announcing its initial plans for the feature.

The company originally announced its intention to create a marketplace for community created content at BlizzCon back in 2009. “Not only will the map editors of future games like StarCraft II be more powerful than Warcraft III, but players will be able to publish maps much easier through the redesigned service,” we wrote at the time.

“Eventually, after the launch of StarCraft II and the redesigned Battle.net service, Blizzard plans on further expanding the features for users. Some of these include the option to rate and comment on maps, including free and premium levels, creating a StarCraft II marketplace for maps and items related to the game, and providing a service where the revenue from purchased custom maps will go to the map creators.”

Fortnite Server Downtime Has Ended, Update 3.6 Live Now [Update]

Update 2: Fortnite’s server downtime has now ended, meaning update 3.6 is live and the game is playable again. We’ll have the full patch notes up soon.

Update: Fortnite’s servers are currently down on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile, as developer Epic prepares to roll out update 3.6 across the world. The developer has not stated when we can expect servers to be back online. Original story follows.

Fortnite will update to version 3.6 overnight, and there’s some reason to believe this will finally be the meteoric event the community has been waiting for. The tweet teasing the update, which will lead to sever downtime starting at 4 AM ET, cheekily mentions “sticking its landing.”

For weeks, players have been noticing a meteor in the skybox, apparently slowly getting bigger as it approaches. More recently it has gotten close enough to actually see movement in-game, including some occasional shooting stars streaking across the sky. All of that implies some cosmic event coming, leading to something. The speculation has mostly revolved around an update to nix Tilted Towers, a contentious area of the world map.

This may very well may be that update, but players have thought that before. The v3.5 update was also rumored to be the culmination of the meteor tease last week, but that didn’t happen. Instead, that update brought a limited time 50v50 mode along with balance changes.

Whatever changes come (and maybe more significantly, don’t come) with this update, it’s unlikely to slow the breakaway success of Fortnite. The mobile version is already a huge financial success for Epic, and the game has captured the kind of popular word-of-mouth that gets it free press from the likes of Drake and the Buffalo Bills. It’s preparing to launch in China, which is a ripe territory for free-to-play games, so we can probably expect it to continue to grow there as well.
