Science Confirms Uranus Stinks
Scientists have found evidence the clouds of Uranus are comprised of hydrogen sulfide which is pretty smelly stuff.
A paper published in Nature Astronomy explains the clouds have always appeared to be made up of ammonia or hydrogen sulfide but scientists had been unsure which until this recent survey using the Gemini-North Near-infrared Integral Field Spectrometer in Hawaii.
Previous observations indicated Uranus’s cloud top of the main cloud deck had pressures levels between 1.2 bar and 3 bar leading scientists to believe the clouds consisted of either ammonia or hydrogen sulfide but enough information was not available to ascertain in what quantities.
A University in Ohio Will Offer a Fortnite Scholarship
Ashland University is looking to bring in the best Fortnite: Battle Royale players and is offering a scholarship to do so.
Tech Crunch reports the Ohio University is adding the popular battle royale game to its esports program line up and is looking to incentivise the best players to join.
This means the relatively new Fortnite will join the likes of League of Legends, Overwatch, CS: Go, and Rocket League as a part of the school’s competitive esports program.
“Fortnite appeals to both the core and casual gaming audience,” Ashland University’s esports head coach Josh Buchanan said. “We’re excited to provide this platform for gamers who want to showcase their skills in a more competitive space. Fortnite facilitates an environment that allows players to get creative, innovate and show off their mastery of their skills.”
Where the Infinity Stones Are Now In Marvel Comics
With Avengers: Infinity War hitting theaters featuring a story where Earth’s mightiest heroes try to stop Thanos from collecting all of the Infinity Stones, it won’t surprise you to hear that the folks at Marvel Comics are also rolling out a big story featuring those rainbow-colored rocks. Titled “Infinity Wars,” it will also see various characters banning together in a massive conflict centered around the Infinity Stones.
As you may know, the powerful MacGuffins used to be called “Infinity Gems” in the comics, but thanks to 2015’s Secret Wars storyline that rejiggered the Marvel Universe, they were reintroduced as the “Infinity Stones” due to a power far greater than any force in the cosmos: corporate synergy. The colors have been switched up to match the movies, too.

Major Switch Exploit Could Lead to Piracy, Homebrew
A major exploit in the Nintendo Switch’s Nvidia chip has been discovered, and could reportedly turn the device into a haven for hackers.
In order to make the public and the Switch’s hardware manufacturers aware of the exploit (thus keeping it out of the realm of those who want to use it for nefarious reasons), it was first made public by hardware hacker Kate Temkin and others at ReSwitched, a website dedicated to the hacking of Nintendo’s console to allow homebrew software.
As Temkin describes, the ‘Fusée Gelée’ exploit is baked into the read-only memory of the Nvidia Tegra X1 used in the Switch, and therefore can’t be patched in a software update. In order to access the exploit, you need to put your Switch into recovery mode (using a piece of wire) to execute extra data during boot time. Temkin has outlined the exploit in a plain language FAQ for those less technically-minded.
Dig Into The Undertaker’s Epic Career With New Graphic Novel
WWE icon, The Undertaker, is getting his very own original graphic novel, from writer Chad Dundas and artist Rodrigo Lorenzo, charting his 25 year wrestling career.
Boom! Studios and WWE have teamed up to bring fans WWE: Undertaker, “an all-new original graphic novel exploring the career of the legendary Superstar, considered one of the greatest performers in WWE history.”
“One of the most fun parts of a project like this is getting to take those deep dives into these big relationships in the Undertaker’s career,” writer Chad Dundas told ESPN. “Deep-dive into how he got hooked up with Pall Bearer. A deep-dive into his relationship with Kane. Trying to imagine what conversations between the two of them would have been like backstage after Kane debuts and the Undertaker realizes that this brother that he thought had died when he was a child, is still alive.” Dundas is a combat sports journalist and author of the 2016 novel pro wrestling novel Champion of the World.
Venom Movie: First Look At Tom Hardy In The Symbiote
It’s several months before the Venom movie starring Tom Hardy will arrive in theaters. However, the first look at the actor in the alien symbiote that creates the comic book character has arrived.
While it hasn’t been officially released yet, it’s believed that the first footage of Hardy as Venom is to be shown at the CinemaCon exhibition in Las Vegas. Before that, though, a quick clip of it has appeared online via Twitter.
In the quick clip, the symbiote envelops Hardy’s Eddie Brock, as he declares, “We are Venom.” The scene then flashes to the monstrous character’s tongue slipping out past its jagged teeth. It’s a truly horrifying image, and one comic book fans should know well. The design of Venom in the movie, at least its head, is very similar to what’s been seen in comics since the alien symbiote attached itself to Eddie Brock in 1984.
Unfortunately, this tiny clip is all that has surfaced from the footage shown at CinemaCon. However, Hardy did tease on Instagram that he was bringing a new trailer for the film with him to the event. Whether that winds up online remains to be seen. With this one small look, though, fans of Venom–and the larger Spider-Man universe Sony is making movies about–should be pretty excited.
Venom is directed by Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer. It also stars Ris Ahmed, Michelle Williams, and Woody Harrelson and it hits theaters on October 5, 2018.
