No, John Oliver Isn’t Ending His HBO Show

No, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is not ending.

Fans started fearing the worst after Oliver announced he’s shuttering the HBO show before walking off set this past Sunday night. But it’s likely just a cruel joke.

Last month, the host made headlines for spending a ton of money on a bunch of Russell Crowe memorabilia from the actor’s divorce auction. Crowe got word of it and announced the money Oliver spent will be given to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital to help koalas with chlamydia.

This Fortnite Calculator Helps You Manage Your Running Time

A Fortnite player has created a calculator to help estimate the run time from any point on the map, helping make getting caught in the storm a thing of the past.

Reddit user Yogsther created the tool in an effort to help players review their paths from previous matches and to help get an idea of paths for future games. The calculator allows you to place points anywhere on the map to pinpoint the distance between each marker and the time needed to get from one place to another. A grid can be toggled on and off, and grabbing a midpoint will transform it into a new marker. You can try the map out for yourself here.

Westworld Breakdown: Season 2 Episode 3 Virtù e Fortuna

Westworld Breakdown: Season 2 Episode 3 Virtù e Fortuna

Lucy and Tamoor break down everything from the latest episode of Westworld, from the new park to the mysterious new occupants, and delve deeper into the strange symbols that have been spotted around the show. Beware, spoilers!

Season 2 Episode 3 of HBO’s Westworld is titled “Virtù e Fortuna” which, if you’re up on your Machiavelli, you’ll know relates to the use of “cunning, scheming, and unscrupulous” behaviour in the pursuit of advancing your own goals. That pretty much nails what this episode is about and, amidst the chaos of the rebellion and uprising happening, it’s gripping to watch.

The main focuses of the episode are Dolores and Maeve, who are fighting for their freedom in two very different ways. Dolores continues to amass an army and must take a stand against Delos, which in turn reveals more of her darker side. Maeve, Hector, and Sizemore, meanwhile, find themselves confronting ghosts of a forgotten past. All in all, it’s another fascinating, sharply written episode of Westworld.

As always, there’s plenty to unpack, so Lucy and Tamoor are here to breakdown the episode, pick out all the key moments, analyse the important clues, and discuss the most meaningful developments.

Westworld Season 2 premiered on April 22 on HBO and Sky Atlantic and is set to have 10 episodes. For those late to the party, check out our Westworld Season 2 Episode 1 and Episode 2 breakdowns to get caught up on everything that happened so far. And if you’re about to start the second season but need a quick refresher on everything, we have a handy Westworld Season 1 story recap.

Fortnite Gets Avengers: Infinity War Mode Featuring Thanos

Epic Games is teaming up with Marvel for an Avengers: Infinity War crossover in Fortnite: Battle Royale. Going along with Season 4’s movie theme, the villain of Marvel’s superhero blockbuster, Thanos, will make a surprise appearance in the free-to-play battle royale game on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and iOS (via Entertainment Weekly).

The crossover takes the form of a limited-time event called the Infinity Gauntlet Mashup, which kicks off tomorrow, May 8. Like a typical game of Battle Royale, it pits 100 players against each other in a fight to be the last one standing, with one significant wrinkle: the Infinity Gauntlet will appear as a weapon.

During the match, the Infinity Gauntlet–equipped with all six Infinity Stones–will spawn somewhere on the map. The player who manages to find and equip it will transform into Thanos, which, according to EW, grants them “all the power that comes with him.” You can see an image of Thanos below.

The Infinity Gauntlet Mashup is the first special event of Season 4, which began last week with the release of Fortnite’s latest update. Epic hasn’t announced how long the mode will remain in rotation, but previous limited-time events have typically only been available for about a week.

“Over the past few months, while we were editing Infinity War, we’d take breaks to hop on and get in a few games,” Infinity War director Joe Russo said of himself and co-director Anthony Russo. “And then we started thinking, how cool would it be to have some kind of Avengers-Fortnite mashup? So we stalked Donald [Mustard, Epic Games creative director].”

Mustard told EW, “Out of the blue, I get this call from Joe. And after a bit of geeking out over each other’s work, we start brainstorming these crazy ideas. It was really important that whatever we did, it had to be super authentic to both Fortnite and the Avengers: Infinity War, and something that fans of both would be excited about. About an hour later, we had the bones of this awesome idea for a limited time gameplay mode, and almost immediately our team got started.”

Along with the start of a new season, last week’s update made some significant changes to Battle Royale. The mysterious comet that had been looming in the sky finally crashed over Dusty Depot, turning it into Dusty Divot. Epic also recently vaulted another weapon; this time, the crossbow was removed from the game. Additionally, with Season 4 now underway, Battle Royale players have a new set of skins and rewards to earn by completing new Battle Pass challenges.
