Get Destiny 2 And More Games For $12 In June’s Humble Monthly

If you play games on PC, you may be aware of the Humble Monthly gaming subscription. For $12 per month, it grants you a monthly bundle of games worth over $100. The only catch is that most of the games in the bundle are a mystery until after you’ve paid. Humble does announce at least one game each month as an “early unlock” to entice new subscribers. The early unlock game for June 2018 is one of the biggest games ever featured in the subscription: Destiny 2.

If you subscribe for June’s offerings–whatever they end up being–you’ll get Destiny 2 immediately, just in time for the Warmind expansion, coming May 8. After that, you’ll have to wait for the end of the month to find out what the rest of the games are, (though occasionally a game or two will be announced in the middle of the month).

As a point of comparison, April’s Humble Bundle games included Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Mafia III, God Eater 2, Outlast 2, and more. The games usually come in the form of Steam codes that are saved in your Humble account. Unlike PlayStation Plus, you get to keep and play your Humble Monthly games forever, whether you have an active subscription or not.

Humble throws in extra bonuses for Humble Monthly subscribers as well. All active subscribers get 10% off every game in the Humble Store. They also get access to the Humble Trove, a collection of mostly well-received indie games. And if you subscribe for a full year, you save $12 off the monthly rate and (for a limited time) you get $25 added to your Humble Store account. Plus, 5% of Humble’s proceeds go to charity.

All in all, Humble Monthly is one of the best deals in PC gaming. And with Destiny 2 being the early unlock for June, now is a fine time to get started.

PUBG’s Move Beyond Battle Royale, War Mode, Comes At A Cost

PUBG’s Move Beyond Battle Royale, War Mode, Comes At A Cost

With Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds competition raging, we see how the timed event War Mode stacks up.

When the dust had settled following PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ latest limited-time event, War Mode, two things were clear: PUBG is almost certainly responding to the runaway success of Fortnite, and PUBG without the traditional Battle Royale structure is still really fun.

Not too long ago, PUBG without all players dropping onto a map without weapons would’ve seemed like sacrilege. Now, however, Fortnite has eclipsed Battlegrounds as the number one Battle Royale game, while the genre has rapidly become more crowded. PUBG is still popular, of course, but Fortnite’s ascension has shown that PUBG needs to continue innovating to stay competitive.

In the video embedded above, the GameSpot team argues that War Mode demonstrates that developer PUBG Corp. is on the right track when it comes to diversifying. Although shooters always run the risk of watering down their core modes when they add new gametypes, War Mode succeeded in proving that a PUBG match can still entertain without the Battle Royale gameplay loop.

Watch our full reasoning and our suggestions for what PUBG should do next in the video above. The second run of War Mode unfortunately had to end early due to serve issues, but players do have a lot take in from a new update that introduced another weapon and vehicle, among other things.

Pokemon Go Announces A Series Of Real-World Events This Summer

Pokemon Go developer Niantic is hosting a number of real-world events for the game very soon. The developer has announced the Pokemon Go Summer Tour 2018, a series of real-world events that will be held across the globe this summer, the first of which kicks off in Germany next month.

On June 30 and July 1, Niantic will hold a special Safari Zone event at Westfalenpark in Dortmund. That will be followed by the second annual Pokemon Go Fest, which will take place in Chicago’s Lincoln Park on July 14-15. Finally, Japanese players will be able to participate in a special Safari Zone event in Yokosuka later this summer.

Niantic says each event will “include unique ways for players around the world to create adventures of their own and complete challenges together.” Niantic will also continue to hold Community Days throughout the summer.

Safari Zone Dortmund will be free to attend, but those hoping like to take part in this year’s Pokemon Go Fest will need to purchase a $20 ticket. Those will go on sale beginning at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET on May 11. Niantic says it will announce additional details for the Yokosuka Safari Zone event “soon” on the Pokemon Go Live website.

In the meantime, players still have a few more days to take part in the Battle Showdown event. Until May 14, Fighting Pokemon such as Makuhita will spawn more frequently, and everyone will earn double XP for participating in Gym and Raid Battles.

Following that, Niantic will host the next Community Day on May 19. This month, participants will get triple the normal amount of Stardust for capturing Pokemon, while the classic starter Charmander will appear in much greater numbers for the duration of the event.

AFL and Riot Games Team For League of Origin II

Australian sporting body AFL and League of Legends developers Riot Games announce a new partnership to bring a premier stadium tournament to Melbourne, Australia in November this year.

Team Victoria Gets Home Field Advantage Team Victoria Gets Home Field Advantage

Last year’s League of Legends: League of Origin was a fantastic event, seeing players from Australia’s OPL gear up to represent their state in League of Legends, assimilating the “State of Origin” formula into League of Legends for a weekend-long All-Star format tournament. Last year the event took place at the ESL Studio in Auburn – this partnership between AFL and League of Legends means League of Origin II will take place in Melbourne.

Why Dying Light Co-op Was the Perfect Way to Stay Close to My Brother

We were just finishing up a long mission and were heading back to one of the hubs, hoping to reach it ahead of the looming night, during which Dying Light’s most dangerous threats appear. On this final stretch we had to pass through a tunnel, populated with the inevitable dozen or so zombies, but nothing out of the ordinary or too risky. We should have known better. Halfway through, we discovered it was filled with our most feared and dreaded enemy in Dying Light – Volatiles. Going up against just one could be a challenge, even with two of us coordinating; but there were dozens of them.

We decided the only way through was to camouflage ourselves in zombie guts (one of the many perks you can attain as you upgrade). As we slowly walked through the terrifying pack, trying to avoid bumping into any of them, we knew it was only a matter of time before they caught on, so as soon as we were through the main group, we ran for our lives.
