Every TV Show Coming to Apple

Apple may be late to the digital streaming game, with the likes of Netflix, Amazon and Hulu already dominating most of the online entertainment conversation, but with a market value of over $1 trillion, the tech giant is more than capable of making its own mark in the highly competitive “original programming war.”

Currently, Apple has 26 shows in production or development, featuring a wide range of programs, from reality TV series, like James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, all the way to ambitious science fiction projects, like David S. Goyer’s adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s seminal sci-fi epic, Foundation

Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister in the HBO series said there were many teary goodbyes and farewell dinners throughout the season, so there was so much build-up at the end.

“When my turn came around, I really didn’t think it was going to phase me,” Coster-Waldau said. “But I have to admit that right when they said, “This is a series wrap for Nikolaj,” there might have been a tiny bit of moisture in the air, just around my eyes.

Rod Serling’s Planet of the Apes Movie That Could’ve Been

Just about everyone recognizes the iconic, twist ending to the original Planet of the Apes movie — Charlton Heston shouting at a ruined Statue of Liberty, and by extension, at humanity itself, which he’s finally realized has been lost to the ages and its own penchant for self-destruction. And most fans know that ending was at least in part the work of legendary Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling, a master of the gut-punch twist if ever there was one, and the original writer on the Apes movie.

During the film’s gestation, Serling scripted several drafts of Planet of the Apes, adapting the Pierre Boulle novel, though eventually screenwriter Michael Wilson came in to bring his own spin to the material. But in the 50 years since the film’s release, fans have often wondered how much of Serling’s work remained in the final product. Now, thanks to BOOM! Studios’ Planet of the Apes: Visionaries graphic novel, we have a pretty good idea.

What Netflix’s Disenchantment Needs to Fix in Season 2

Netflix just added another high-profile animated series to its lineup of original content with Disenchantment. Unfortunately, despite being developed by animated sitcom heavyweights like Matt Groening and Josh Weinstein, we felt like this new series failed to meet the standard of shows like The Simpsons and Futurama in its first season, as we said in our Season 1 review.

We know that Netflix has at least ten more episodes of Disenchantment in the pipeline. If the series is ever going to live up to its potential, we think there’s room for a few improvements. Read on for what we think needs changing to make Disenchantment truly enchanting.
