Death Stranding Pizza Tips: There’s A Good Reason To Deliver Pizza

In Death Stranding, you’ll find yourself delivering all sorts of items for the strange and eccentric survivors in Hideo Kojima’s post-apocalyptic world. Whether it’s bringing classic game consoles to the Collector or delivering well-aged wine to those in the furthest reaches of the map, you’ll be putting in the leg work to ensure you can form bonds with the many characters you’ll come to know. However, there’s one especially strange series of deliveries that’s worth taking the time for.

In Episode 3, you’ll eventually get an optional order in Lake Knot City asking you to deliver a pizza. Shipping to Peter Englert, a prepper in the west, you’ll have to bring the hot item to his shelter in under an hour–even less if you choose to take on the premium delivery challenge. Once you deliver the cargo, you actually won’t speak to him directly, the terminal’s automated system will take care of the handoff. Once that’s done, you’ll eventually get a follow-up message from Peter thanking you for the pizza. Later on, the mystery man will send you an email asking for another one, this time, presenting clues on where to find the pizza, which you’ll need to deliver in the same fashion.

What makes delivering pizzas in Death Stranding a bit of challenge is that it is sensitive cargo that must be stacked horizontally at all times. The worst thing you can do to a box of pizza is to place it on its side, and in Death Stranding, that will cause it significant damage. To ensure that you can keep the item safe and sound, always make sure that you have items in your backpack before placing it into your inventory. If you have a full set of cargo in your backpack, the pizza will stack on top of it. Also, avoid using the auto-arrange feature when carrying pizza. While this feature can come in handy most of the time, it will ignore requirements for sensitive cargo to optimize the layout for Sam’s inventory. This means that it will more than likely pack the pizza vertically to make space. If you want to avoid messing with your inventory, grab a truck and place the pizza inside its cargo hold–instant pizza delivery truck!

These missions may seem like an odd diversion and a waste of time, but if you stick with it, you’ll come to find this questline has a somewhat surprising payoff. In total, there are about four different pizza delivery missions throughout the game. Eventually, you’ll be able to learn more about the identity of Peter Englert, and just what’s inside of his shelter. Once you complete Episode 10, you’ll be able to return to Peter’s shelter and find the door wide open. For the sake of spoilers, we won’t reveal what’s inside. However, we can say it’s a satisfying discovery which adds a lot to the overall plot. But if you’re looking for a more tangible reward, completing all the pizza delivery missions will open up special upgrades for Sam’s firearms, allowing him to fire rounds made from chiralium.

Netflix: Klaus Review

This is a spoiler-free review of Klaus, which premieres Friday, November 15 on Netflix. It is currently in limited theatrical release.

In a climate where most holiday stories have already been told and retold, Klaus, from Sergio Pablos (Despicable Me), stands out nicely as a unique and sweet original piece of Christmastime animation. For those looking for something new to show their kids this season, or just enjoy children-free even, it’s a stylish and darkly humored take on Santa lore.

Featuring the voices of Jason Schwartzman, J.K. Simmons, Rashida Jones, and Joan Cusack, Klaus dabbles in a handful of family film cliches, but they’re all mixed up inside an original fable involving a rich, spoiled postal academy student named Jesper (Schwartzman) getting banished to the distant Nordic town of Smeerenburg where his only way out is to get the townsfolk to send six thousand letters in a year’s time.

Dawn of X: Fallen Angels #1 Advance Review

Note: this is a spoiler-free advance review for Fallen Angels #1, which will hit stores on Wednesday, November 13.

With the release of Fallen Angels #1, Marvel’s initial Dawn of X lineup is now complete. It’s impressive not just how neatly these six books intermingle, but how high the overall standard of quality is. Fallen Angels may not strictly be the most necessary X-book in terms of plot or world building, but it does add compelling new wrinkles to an already fascinating status quo.

Fallen Angels is another example of a Dawn of X book dusting off a classic title but applying a very different take. In this case, Fallen Angels only really shares a basic premise with the short-lived 1987 book of the same name. This, too, is a story about mutant outsiders struggling to find their place. In the era of Krakoa, the true outsiders are those mutants who can’t accept a peaceful life in the new mutant nation. In particular, the book revolves heavily around Kwannon and her struggle to recover her autonomy and independence after years of having her body hijacked by Betsy Braddock.

Sonic’s New Movie Look Was Led By A Sonic Franchise Veteran

Paramount Pictures has finally revealed Sonic the Hedgehog’s new look–and fans are enjoying it much more than the original design. As it turns out, Paramount enlisted the help of a Sonic game developer veteran to help create a revised look for the film.

Tyson Hesse, an American animator who worked on Sonic Mania and various Sonic comics, announced that he was brought on board to lead the design effort for the new look. Hesse said he worked with director Jeff Fowler and the various production departments across the world to make Sonic closer to the source material. The work he did with his team seemed to have worked, as fans are much more enthusiastic about Sonic’s new look.

Fowler, who earned an Oscar nomination for his animated movie Gopher Broke, said in his own tweet that he is thankful to the fans for their “patience and support.”

In May 2019, when Paramount announced it would delay the movie to create a new look for Sonic, some worried that the production team would have to work overly long hours to get the job done. Fowler, however, said “no VFX artists were harmed in the making of this movie.”

The VFX team seems to have gone the extra mile with the new Sonic movie, as one of the new scenes shows Sonic doing his ledge animation from the game series.

Sonic the Hedgehog’s new release date is February 14, 2020–Valentine’s Day. It is produced by Deadpool director Tim Miller, who also earned an Oscar nomination for his work on Gopher Broke.

The movie, which blends CG and live-action, features the voice of Ben Schwartz as Sonic. James Marsden plays the sheriff of Green Hills, Montana who becomes friends with Sonic. Dr. Robotnik, the bad guy, is played by Jim Carrey.

The Exec Who Greenlit Game Of Thrones Is Joining Apple

iPhone company Apple is making a big hire for its newly launched TV and film business. It has been reported that former HBO CEO Richard Plepler will be heading up a production company within Apple to create new content for the nascent Apple TV+.

According to Deadline, Plepler considered other, unspecified companies before agreeing to go with Apple. His specific deal with Apple is still being negotiated, according to reports.

Apple TV+ launched on November 1 with new shows including The Morning Show starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and See featuring Aquaman star Jason Momoa. Another show, Dickinson, stars Hailee Steinfeld as Emily Dickinson.

Plepler spent close to 30 years at HBO before stepping down earlier this year during AT&T’s takeover of HBO parent company WarnerMedia. In his decades-long career at HBO, Plepler greenlit a number of high-profile shows, including Game of Thrones and Veep. He was also instrumental in getting new platform projects off the ground such as HBO Go and HBO Now.

According to Deadline, “Plepler’s goal is to deliver as a producer the kind of high-quality series he championed as a top executive at HBO, including Game of Thrones.”

The news about Plepler moving to Apple comes just as Disney launches its own streaming service, Disney+.

We Collected 25 Years of Weird and Wonderful Sonic Images

Update: Today Sonic’s most important look yet was revealed. The upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie’s titular character received a full redesign based on fan criticism of the initial design. We’ve added these designs to our gallery of every Sonic appearance ever below.

Until Sonic the Hedgehog debuted on the SEGA Genesis, a fat plumber somewhat inexplicably served as the game industry’s most recognizable icon. All of that changed when gamers saw SEGA’s blue blur careening off springs, zipping through loops and wagging his finger disapprovingly at people still playing “baby games” on Super Nintendo.

Why Nintendo Doesn’t Remaster More Of Its Games

In a recent company earnings call, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa spoke about remasters and remakes. Though Nintendo has no concrete plans right now, Furukawa stated that the company is open to the idea if a developer is passionate about the project.

Furukawa was asked whether Nintendo has intentions to release more remakes, following the success of games like The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu & Eevee. He said Nintendo has no “defined policy to continuously release more remakes in future” and expressed that nostalgia should not be the main reason for pursuing older titles.

“[T]he titles we’ve developed over our past 30 years in the dedicated video game system business have been played by and fondly remembered by many people, and these are an important asset to Nintendo as well. Nostalgia can be very appealing, but it’s more important to be able to create new game experiences and fun, etc., even within remakes of classic titles.

“And I think that the most important factor is whether the developers are passionate about wanting to remake a game,” Furukawa said. “A good recent example of this is The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, as you mentioned. Consumers all over the world responded positively to both its nostalgic elements and new features.”

Earlier this month, Wall Street Journal tech reporter Takashi Mochizuki said Furukawa is looking into “mak[ing] more 3DS franchises available on Switch.” It’s unclear what titles he is talking about specifically, but Brain Age, a series that has been on Nintendo’s handhelds since 2006, is getting a new entry this December in Japan. The game is also expected to launch on January 3, 2020 in the West.
