Rick And Morty Co-Creator’s New Show Has A First Trailer, And It’s Full Of Aliens And Violence

Hulu has unveiled a first look at a new series from Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland. The show is called Solar Opposites, and it looks…well, a lot like Rick & Morty.

The show is about an alien family that travels to Earth, not realizing that the planet is infested with humans. They have to do their best not only to blend in, but to deal with all the intricacies of our planet. Naturally, it looks like things are going to go extremely wrong for them.

The trailer, below, features an unusual amount of violence against birds–by our count five birds die in it. Enjoy!

All episodes of the first season of Solar Opposites will release together on May 8. The show stars Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs) and Mary Mack (Golan the Insatiable), as well as Roiland himself.

Roiland also played the eponymous Trover in Trover Saves the Universe, which was created by the game development studio he founded, Squanch Games.

The second half of Rick & Morty Season 4 does not have a release date yet.

Call Of Duty Warzone, Modern Warfare, & Mobile Updates: Everything You Need To Know In Under 3 Minutes

Activision is rolling out new Call of Duty content across the series this week, with fresh updates for Warzone, Modern Warfare, and Mobile. The video above details what’s coming to each game.

Warzone is getting four new weapons, which can be found across the map in common in uncommon variants. New Operator Talon is also joining the fray, alongside his faithful dog companion Indiana.

The Talon bundle is also available for Modern Warfare, which is getting a new free multiplayer map, Khandor Hideout. The 6v6 map is ideal for snipers, shotguns, and SMGs.

Finally, Mobile is getting two new games modes, called Rapid Fire and Sticks and Stones. Zombies mode is being removed as the two new ones come in.

AHS: Freak Show – Episode 6 “Bullseye” Breakdown

With the Tattler twins out of the picture, Elsa Mars ditches singing for an old hobby of hers: knife throwing. This will definitely end well. Everyone at the Freak Show is concerned with Bette and Dot’s disappearance, little do they know that Elsa sold them off to the Mott family.

Speaking of the Tattlers, they aren’t getting along in their new digs. Believe it or not, Bette actually likes Dandy, while Dot despises every bit of him. Dandy teases Dot with the idea of surgery.

Meanwhile, Elsa’s birthday week is a bit rocky. She discovers that her (secret) lover Paul was also seeing Penny. Paul then volunteers to have knives thrown at him. This, too, does not end well.

Our favorite character Ma Petite was almost killed off, and we nearly broke our televisions at the mere thought of such a horrible tragedy.

Anthem Update Fixes Legendary Runner Issue

EA has released a new patch for Anthem to fix an issue with the weekly challenge not rewarding players with loot on completion. The weekly challenge, Legendary Runner, was supposed to give out 2,000 coins as a reward on completion and count towards the monthly count of challenges. After players had completed this mission once, the mission failed to reward players for any future completions of the same challenge in the following weeks.

Without this weekly challenge being counted as completed, some players were unable to unlock their monthly challenges, missing out on a chance to get a Masterwork Ember–a rare crafting element for crafting Javelin armor and weapons.

For players who have finished or attempted to complete the challenge previously, EA will be backtracking through accounts and accrediting them with rewards for each completion. These rewards should now be granted in-game, if they are not appearing make sure to reach out to the Anthem support page.

The patch has rolled out automatically across PS4, PC and Xbox One. If the patch has not been downloaded on your device, check your connection or the store page for any updates. Keep checking back on Anthem, as the big redesign is being developed and will be released sometime in the next few months.

DC Universe Online Is Adding A Birds Of Prey Episode Soon

DC Universe Online, the free-to-play MMO for PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC, is expanding soon with the Birds of Prey. Their episode will debut on April 16, according to a post by Dimensional Ink Games’ senior community manager, Ted Stone, on the PlayStation Blog.

The event will be available to all players who have hit level 15 or above for a limited time, and the team will consist of Black Canary, Harley Quinn, The Huntress, and Poison Ivy. While there’s plenty of overlap, this isn’t quite the same team as from the recent Birds of Prey movie.

The in-game episode will follow Lex Luthor having lost his mind and destroyed LexCorp Tower, which will send Metropolis into a panic. Playing through this episode, the player will repeatedly come into contact with the Birds of Prey team, regardless of whether they’re playing as a hero or a villain. Each will have unique abilities and fighting styles that they can help you out with.

In the meantime, all previous episodes have been made free-to-access in the lead up to the Birds of Prey launch, so now’s a great time to jump into–or return to–DC Universe Online.

DC Universe Online first released in 2011 for PC and PlayStation 3. It has since made its way to modern systems, and is the first MMO on Switch (outside of Japan, at least, where Dragon Quest X is also available).

If you didn’t get a chance to see Birds of Prey in cinemas, it’s now available digitally.

Why Time Travel In Animal Crossing Is A Bad Idea

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has finally arrived on Nintendo Switch. Nintendo’s charming life sim series has always had a very leisurely pace compared to other games, but even by these standards, New Horizons gets off to a slow start. You’ll spend your first few days gradually transforming your deserted island into a bustling town, and this entails gathering lots of materials to build bridges, picking out plots of land for new residents, and setting up a museum and general store.

Given how long it takes to develop your island, you may be tempted to set your Switch clock forward and skip time to unlock things more quickly. We wouldn’t recommend that, however. As Jake explains in the video above, time traveling may be an alluring way to get your town up and running, but you should resist the temptation and let the game unfold naturally.

New Horizons has received very positive reviews from critics. GameSpot’s Kallie Plagge gave it an 8/10 in our Animal Crossing: New Horizons review-in-progress, writing, “So far, I’ve played Animal Crossing: New Horizons for 80 hours over 17 days, and that anticipation hasn’t yet gone away. While I’ve spent a lot of time developing my island so far, I still feel as if there’s plenty left for me to do and see–there’s a lot in New Horizons to occupy your time with.”

If you’re just settling into your new island home, we’ve rounded up lots of tips and guides for New Horizons to help you out, including what you should be doing every day, how to get the all-important shovel, and how to make money. We also have explainers on how to unlock the ladder and upgrade your inventory space.

UK Film Students Receive Surprise Masterclass From The Social Network Director David Fincher

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to force people to self-isolate, students across the world have been impacted as classes move online and practicals become impossible. But 450 students at the National Film and Television School in the UK are likely feeling a bit better about their situation now after a surprise masterclass from David Fincher.

Fincher, whose directorial credits include The Social Network, Fight Club, and (my personal favorite) Zodiac, made a surprise appearance over Zoom, Indiewire reports. The Masterclass was conducted through Zoom, and since Fincher tends to shy away from interviews and press appearances, it offered some rare insight into his processes.

Unfortunately, the class he gave is unlikely to appear online anytime soon, but it would have been a nice surprise for the students.

David Fincher’s next film, Mank, is going to Netflix in 2020. He has not released a movie since 2014’s Gone Girl, but he served as an executive producer and director across both seasons of Mindhunter, also on Netflix.

The future of Mindhunter is currently in doubt, with the show’s actors released from their contracts while Fincher pursues other projects.

Captain America’s Chris Evans Is A Father Pushed To The Limit In Trailer For Dramatic Apple Plus Series

Apple has released the first trailer for its new mini-series, Defending Jacob, which stars Captain America actor Chris Evans as a father whose young son has been accused of murder.

Complicating things is that Evans plays an assistant district attorney who must navigate the waters of supporting his beloved son and finding justice. The movie is based on the 2012 book of the same name. The first trailer promises a lot of drama and intrigue in small-town Massachusetts.

As you can see in the debut trailer, Evans partakes in some shady behaviour that would not make the noble and virtuous Captain America very proud.

Defending Jacob also stars Stephen King’s It star Jaeden Martell as Jacob, as well as Master Chief actor Pablo Schreiber. Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons also has a role on the show.

There are eight episodes for Defending Jacob, which premieres on Apple TV Plus on April 24. This is just the latest Apple TV Plus program, following The Morning Show starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and Servant from M. Night Shyamalan. There is also a video game show called Mythic Quest from the It’s Always Sunny team that’s well worth your time.
