All Of Valve’s Classic Games Are Incredibly Cheap Right Now

Valve has had quite the video game history, having developed and published a bunch of incredible games. With the latest Steam Summer Sale underway, many of Valve’s games are hugely discounted in the Valve Complete Bundle. While this bundle doesn’t actually feature every Valve game, it boasts most of the company’s catalogue, from Half-Life and Team Fortress Classic to Left 4 Dead 2 and Portal 2Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2 are included on the bundle page, but both of those games are already free-to-play.

The Valve Complete bundle currently costs $13.14, down from its full regular price of $145.82. Even better, the bundle gets even cheaper if you already own some of the games. As someone who already owns most of these games, my price drops to below $5 for the last six games I need to complete Valve’s library.

There are a ton of games discounted in this year’s Steam Summer Sale, but since there are so many, it can be hard to know which ones you should spend your money on. We’ve put together a list of some of the best Steam games out there, including the best Steam exclusives, the best games under $10, and our editors’ personal favourite titles.

Also, if you’re looking for more deals this weekend, there are a lot of July 4th sales going on right now. GameStop has some great deals on pre-owned games and controllers, while Best Buy has sweet discounts on games, arcade cabinets, and more.

Reckful, Former WoW Pro And Twitch Streamer, Dies At 31

Byron Bernstein, the popular Hearthstone and World of Warcraft streamer who was better known by his gamer tag “Reckful,” has passed away, according to multiple sources. He was 31 years old.

A cause of death remains unconfirmed but a software engineer and friend of Bernstein’s, Blue, confirmed his death early Tuesday morning. Esports consultant Rod Breslau corroborated the report. Multiple memorials are now being held within WoW across multiple servers and locations to honor Bernstein’s legacy.

Bernstein rose to prominence in 2009 for being a top WoW player, where he claimed the highest-ranked spot in PvP for six consecutive seasons. He also won Major League Gaming’s WoW tournament in 2010, cementing both his talent and his career as a professional gamer. Following this, Bernstein transitioned to competitive Hearthstone play, participating in and casting professional matches for several years.

In 2012, Bernstein became a developer, operations manager, and concept designer at the gaming mouse company Feenix. He was also affiliated with the social MMO Everland, which has been in development since 2018. The game, slated to launch sometime this year, was a collaboration between Bernstein and his community following and was built as a tool to help people find friendship and a sense of camaraderie.

Apex Legends Dev Explains Issue With Loba’s Teleport

An Apex Legends developer gave a thorough explanation of what’s causing an issue with Loba’s tactical on the World’s End map with the Lost Treasures’ patch. Loba’s tactical ability is a teleport that lets her throw her bracelet and travel to it once it lands.

Jason McCord, design director at Respawn, explained in a series of tweets why Loba’s ability is failing more frequently on World’s End than it should be. The game has triggers around cliffs on both maps to stop players from staying up there, which is why an out-of-bounds warning occurs when you land up there. Loba’s bracelet is designed to fail when thrown into these zones to stop her from going up there.

The issue on World’s End stems from a slight difference in coding from Kings Canyon, with the triggers being grouped more on World’s End than on Kings Canyon. McCord explained that Loba’s tactical is failing when passing through the grouped triggers instead of only when landing in them.

It’s important to note that McCord said that isn’t the exact issue with the game and said “my brain exploded when the coder explained it to me,” but it’s an explanation that is far easier to grasp. Respawn is currently testing a fix and McCord said it would realistically go live sometime next week.

The Lost Treasures event is live now through July 7, featuring an abundance of limited-time cosmetics and the reworked limited-time mode Armed and Dangerous mode. EA recently announced that the game would be coming to Nintendo Switch and Steam later this year. Apex Legends has new competition in the free-to-play battle royale space, with Ubisoft’s recently announced first-person-shooter Hyper Scape.

Pokemon Go July 2020 Community Day Detailed

Niantic has a ton of events lined up for Pokemon Go this month. Ahead of Pokemon Go Fest 2020, the studio will host another Community Day on Sunday, July 19, and it has now shared some more details about the event.

Much like the last few Community Days, July’s event will run for six hours instead of the traditional three, from 11 AM to 5 PM local time. As previously revealed, this month’s featured Pokemon will be Gastly. Throughout the Community Day, the Ghost Pokemon will appear in the wild much more frequently than usual, and you’ll have a chance to catch a Shiny Gastly.

Niantic also reiterated that this month’s Community Day move will be Shadow Punch. If you can evolve Haunter–Gastly’s evolved form–into Gengar by 7 PM local time (two hours after the Community Day ends), it’ll automatically know Shadow Punch, which it normally cannot learn in Pokemon Go.

On top of that, a few bonuses will be available throughout July’s Community Day. First, eggs will hatch at a quarter of their normal distance. Any Incense that you use will also remain active for three hours instead of the usual 30 minutes, and a special Community Day box containing 30 Ultra Balls, an Elite Fast TM, two Incense, and two Super Incubators will be available to purchase from the in-game shop.

Finally, Niantic will offer a Community Day-exclusive Special Research questline called The Great Gastly during the event. The questline will require a ticket; those will go on sale in Pokemon Go’s in-game shop ahead of the Community Day and cost $1 USD. You can read more details on the game’s official website.

In the meantime, the first set of weekly Pokemon Go Fest challenges goes live this week. If enough players on each team complete the challenges, Niantic will unlock additional Pokemon during Go Fest weekend. The Legendary Kyurem is also making its debut in Pokemon Go this month, and there’s a new batch of Field Research tasks to complete.
