Mario Kart-Inspired Game With Nickelodeon Characters Announced

Nickelodeon Kart Racers is a new racing game that stars the characters from your favorite Nickelodeon series. The game is published by GameMill Entertainment, the same folks behind Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers, and developed by Bamtang.

SpongeBob SquarePants‘ SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello; Hey Arnold‘s Arnold and Helga; and Rugrats‘ Angelica, Tommy, and Reptar have already been confirmed for the game. Nickelodeon Kart Racers features characters from 12 iconic shows, and includes 24 race tracks inspired by Bikini Bottom, The New York City sewers, Tommy Pickle’s house, Arnold’s school, and more Nickelodeon locations.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers has both team-based co-op, where partners can pull off devastating fused attacks, and local free-for-all multiplayer. Like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the karts are completely customizable and an assortment of power-ups on the tracks allow characters to perform special attacks.

Certain sections of each track are also covered in slime. When driving over slime, your kart will transform into a jet-ski and effortlessly glide across the track.

So far, only four of the 12 shows that are included in the game have been revealed. What other series do you think will show up in Nickelodeon Kart Races? There are quite a few possibilities, including The Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Leave your guesses in the comment section.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers releases for Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on October 23.

Ryan Reynolds Is Reimagining Home Alone As A Stoner Movie

If you’ve ever wondered what a home alone movie would look like if it was geared towards adults, wonder no more. Deadline reports that Ryan Reynolds is making an R-rated version of Home Alone called Stoned Alone with Fox.

Reynolds will be producing the movie, which will reportedly follow a 20-something stoner, who misses a flight to a ski trip, and comes home to light up. After getting sufficiently baked, he gets paranoid and thinks that he hears someone breaking into his house. It turns out, someone is, and the stoner must defend his home from the intruders while high as a kite.

No casting choices have been announced, but we do know that Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider (The Package) wrote the script. Augustine Frizzell, an emerging voice in comedy with a Sundance feature coming out soon, will direct.

The original Home Alone was a smash hit from 1990 that inspired sequels and launched MaCaulay Culkin into stardom. We’re hoping that the themes from the original, combined with the comedy skills of Ryan Reynolds and the whole production team will make for a funny new take on the classic franchise.

Chris Hardwick Will Return To AMC’s Talking Dead Following Sexual Assault Allegations

TV personality and Nerdist Industries founder Chris Hardwick will return soon to host his TV show, Talking Dead. This news follows Hardwick’s suspension due to recent allegations that he abused ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra.

Dykstra posted an article on Medium a few weeks ago describing years of emotional and physical abuse from an ex-boyfriend. The article didn’t mention the celebrity by name, but many inferred that the boyfriend in question was Hardwick from small details in the article as well as photo evidence of the two together. Hardwick has since denied all allegations regarding sexual assault.

AMC said in a statement that it has conducted an investigation into Hardwick’s conduct and has chosen to allow Hardwick to continue hosting Talking Dead.

The statement says, “Following a comprehensive assessment by AMC, working with Ivy Kagan Bierman of the firm Loeb & Loeb, who has considerable experience in this area, Chris Hardwick will return to AMC as the host of Talking Dead and Talking with Chris Hardwick. We take these matters very seriously and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step.”

Hardwick will reportedly return to the show in time for Fear The Walking Dead’s midseason premiere on August 12. In the meantime, Yvette Nicole Brown will host the show for The Walking Dead Season 9 Preview Special on August 5.

HBO Boss Says Network Won’t Change Following Merger

HBO programming president Casey Bloys has promised the network won’t change direction, despite Warner Media chief executive John Stankey recently saying otherwise.

Earlier this month, Stankey said HBO would have to “alter and change direction a little bit” following Time Warner and AT&T’s recent $85.4 billion merger. However, it seems this might no longer be the case as Bloys confirmed HBO will continue to deliver the same type of quality programming it’s known for.

“There are no plans to dilute the HBO brand in favor of programming,” Bloys said during the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “AT&T has been very complimentary of what we do.”

The Rarest And Most Shockingly Expensive Funko Pops On Sale At Comic-Con 2018

Whether we’re talking about Beanie Babies, Pokemon cards, or Funko Pops, there’s always someone willing to pay more for a “holy grail” than what you might happen to consider reasonable. At San Diego Comic-Con 2018 over the weekend, we went on a hunt to discover where that upper limit might lie. The results were shocking and, to be honest, incredible.

Just how rare is rare when it comes to Funko Pops? As we discovered on this amazing journey, some Pops are rare because they were only ever released at a single event. Some were produced in hyper-limited quantities, including the most expensive Pop we found at Comic-Con–which you’ll see at the end of this gallery. And some are just incredibly cool and in high demand.

At the end of the day, these Funko Pops are just cheap chunks of colored plastic. Their only actual value is the imaginary worth we assign to them. But as with any popular collectible, that doesn’t stop Pop hunters from dropping hundreds–and even thousands–of dollars on them. And in the end, if they bring someone happiness, isn’t that worth it?

SDCC was of course filled with more than just the most expensive Funko Pops. Also check out all the exclusive Pops only available at Comic-Con, every exclusive Disney Funko at Comic-Con, and the brand new PS4 Spider-Man Funkos that debuted last week.

We’ve already gone over some of the sale’s highlights overall, but here we thought we’d put some limits on it. If you’re not a Gold member, the price you see could be a bit higher. Let’s look at some deals.

Or perhaps you’d rather not pay for games individually at all. In that case, try a three-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass, on sale for $10 / £8. It lets you download and play a selection of over a hundred games on your Xbox One, including first-party games the same day they’re released.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Update Featuring Rainbow Six Siege Crossover Is Now Live

The stylized military action worlds of the Tom Clancy brand are colliding, as a special event in Ghost Recon Wildlands brings in characters from Rainbow Six Siege. You can use two new Siege-inspired PvP classes or complete a two-part PvE mission starring Siege’s operators.

In the mission from Special Operation 2, titled Operation Archangel, Valkyrie tracks the missing operator Caveira to Bolivia. You’ll partner with Twitch to help Valkyrie find Caveira, while unlocking the mystery of why he’s in Bolivia at all. You can start the mission in the province of Caimanes, and it can be taken on solo or with four-player co-op.

Completing the mission before August 14 will get you Caveira gloves, which unlocks a special CQC move and automatically unlocks enemy positions. You can also customize your Ghost character with a Rainbow Six Gear pack, which includes Caveria’s Luison handgun, a new HK 416 assault rifle, a Valkyrie head-wrap shemagh, and a Twitch skull balaclava.

Two new Ghost War PvP classes are also available. Toxic and Surgeon are inspired by Smoke and Doc from Siege, respectively. Toxic uses a drone to deploy toxic smoke, and Surgeon uses a stim pistol to revive teammates at range. The update also includes two more PvP maps, Factory and Checkpoint, a new Observer mode for spectating, and a higher difficulty PvE game mode with perma-death.
