It’s not quite Black Friday, but Amazon Prime Day 2018 is here. What that means for you is that Amazon is flooded with countless deals–some of them good, some of them bad. These cover a huge range of products, including video games and other things tied to Xbox One. Below, you’ll find our roundup of the best deals for the platform–the games section has been expanded greatly, as Amazon has a big sale happening on digital Xbox One games.

To take advantage of these prices, you’ll need to have an active Prime membership. Fortunately, even if you don’t, you can sign up for a free trial so long as you haven’t been a member in the past year. You can cancel before that auto-renews, getting you access to the full sale (and other Prime perks, including free games from Twitch Prime) for a limited time.

There are two key things you’ll want to be aware of as you hunt for deals during Prime Day. Many of these will be very time-restricted, ending even before Prime Day wraps up at midnight on the night of Tuesday, July 17 (3 AM ET on July 18). That means you’ll need to act fast. But keep in mind that not everything is a good deal–we’ve got Prime Day shopping tips to help you sort through things, and we’ll continue to update our roundups with the best deals we find.

Hardware

With the sale only just getting underway, there aren’t a ton of hardware deals yet. One we’ve found involves the Xbox One S Starter Bundle, which comes equipped with a 1 TB hard drive and three months of both Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass (which gets you unlimited access to lots of games for as long as you’re a subscriber). This is available for $230, and as an added Prime Day bonus, you get a copy of Rare Replay (which itself consists of a bunch of classic Rare games) for free. Amazon also some other promotions that might be worth taking advantage of in relation to this, such as getting three months of Gold for $15 or an Xbox One controller for $50–both only available when buying an eligible console.

Those in the UK also have access to a nice deal of their own, involving an Xbox One S bundle with three games and a controller.

Games

A digital copy of Dragon Ball FighterZ can be had for $35, while digital copies of Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7 are $25 and $30, respectively. The Forza titles are particularly nice to have digitally, as Xbox Play Anywhere support means you’ll get access to them on both Xbox One and PC. There’s plenty else on sale as well, including Just Cause 3 for a mere $6 and the excellent XCOM 2 for just $20.

The moment all Amazon Prime members wait for every year has arrived. Amazon Prime Day 2018 is here and there are heaps of deals covering a wide range of products. Of course, not all deals are created equal, as you can glimpse from the video above on the weirdest deals available this year. However, there are plenty of fantastic deals on Xbox One games–specifically on the digital front. So if you’re big on owning games digitally, you’re in luck: you can find a roundup of the best deals available below.

To access these deals, you must be an active user of Amazon’s Prime membership. Do whatever you have to in order to get access–whether that be registering for a student account if you’re currently attending university, or signing up for a free trial. Though, be wary of the latter; you can only so if you haven’t been an Amazon Prime memeber in the past year. If you’re on the hunt for some good discounts today is going to be one of the best of the year, thanks to Amazon Prime Day. Unfortunately, the actual launch of the sale in the US has seemingly brought Amazon’s website to its knees; it appears to have crashed, leaving users to face an endless loop of pages with few deals on them.

On the bright side, you are sometimes treated to pictures of some cute dogs, like the ones below, so it’s not all bad news. And if you have a direct link to a deal, you do still seem to be able to reach it and make a purchase. But actually accessing your cart, which you’ll need to do to checkout, might not be possible without trying repeatedly. It’s proving to be a frustrating experience, and one that doesn’t appear to be resolved even more than two hours after the sale began in the US.

The online retailer’s annual sale promises to slash prices on a range of products, from video games and TVs to USB drives, phones, and many other gadgets. Of course, to make the most of the day you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime subscriber, but if you haven’t already signed up for a membership, there are some workarounds to save you money on doing that too. While the deeper Prime Day discounts will surface today, we’ve had some decent ones in the lead-up to the sale. Twitch, the streaming platform owned by Amazon, has been giving away free games in July. If you haven’t already been getting them, it may not be too late, you can read all about the pre-Amazon Prime Day deals here.

Amazon Prime Day 2018 Coverage

The next expansion for World of Warcraft is on the horizon. Battle for Azeroth is set to launch in August, but ahead of its release, Blizzard will roll out a big pre-expansion patch this week that sets the stage for the upcoming update and introduces a number of new features to the long-running MMO.

The pre-patch is scheduled to go live on Tuesday, July 17. Among other things, it implements War Mode, a new system that allows players to opt-in or out of PvP encounters. War Mode can be enabled beginning at level 20 by visiting either Orgrimmar or Stormwind, depending upon your allegiance; toggling it on will let you battle against other players in all zones, including Northshire Abbey. However, Blizzard says that Sanctuary areas will remain excluded from PvP, even if War Mode is enabled.

In addition to War Mode, the pre-expansion patch reworks the PvP talent system. Previously, players would unlock talents as they took part in PvP and raised their Honor level. Following the update, players will earn talents as they level up, putting everyone on more even footing. Players will also now be able to choose talents from a group of options, rather than rows.

Shortly after the pre-patch rolls out, Blizzard will kick off new events in Teldrassil and Lordaeron. These events will begin the week of July 24 and continue for three weeks until the launch of the Battle for Azeroth expansion. You can find the full pre-patch notes on the official WoW website.

Battle for Azeroth launches on August 14. On top of the aforementioned changes, it introduces the new continents of Kul Tiras and Zandalar, as well as several new islands to explore. The expansion also raises the game’s level cap to 120, adds a number of new dungeons and raids to take part in, and implements bounties and air drops in War Mode.

Amazon Prime Day is upon us. Starting at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET / 12 PM BT, Amazon kicks off a major site-wide sale on items ranging from video games and technology to baby gear and patio furniture. Early Access Deals

While Prime Day is already going on in the UK, those in the US are still waiting. Thankfully, Early Access deals on Amazon devices and are already available now.

Spotlight Deals

These deals run for 24 hours and can take place during the lead-up to Prime Day or during Prime Day itself. Remember, though, that Prime Day is a 36 hour event, so not all Spotlight Deals will last the whole duration of Prime Day.

Prime Day Exclusive Deals

These are deals that run the entire duration of Prime Day. Keep in mind that it’s still possible to miss out on them if they go out of stock.

Lightning Deals

Often the best deals Amazon offers on Prime Day are limited-time, limited-stock Lighting Deals. These can run out of stock fast, so the best way to keep up with them is through the Amazon app on your iOS or Android phone. You can get a sneak peek at the day’s Lighting Deals by pressing “Today’s Deal” in the top left app menu, then the “Upcoming” tab. Find a deal that you want and tap “Watch This Deal” to get notified when it starts. Happy deal hunting.

Newegg’s FantatasTech Sale

Newegg’s anti-Prime Day sale is called the FantasTech Sale. Starting at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET and running for four days, Newegg will cut prices on all kinds of tech products, from gaming PC components to computer monitors to audio equipment. Best Buy’s Big Deals Days

Best Buy is running a Big Deals Days sale that ends July 17 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. It has discounts on things like phones, TVs, laptops, and home theater equipment. There’s not much in the way of game discounts, but Best Buy just announced that if you want to trade in your copy of Madden NFL 18 and put the credit toward Madden NFL 19 (which releases August 10), you’ll get the credit value of the game, plus an additional $10.

Fanatical’s Capcom Sale

The digital PC game seller Fanatical has a whole lot of Capcom games on sale right now (games come in the form of Steam codes). From Resident Evil to Dead Rising and Mega Man, you can save on games in some of the publisher’s biggest series. Some highlights are below, but you can find the full list here.

Target’s One-Day Sale

Target is doing its own online-only sale on July 17. Called the One-Day Sale, this event features discounts on games, movies, iPhones, clothes, and more. You can see the full ad here.

Amazon Prime Day 2018 has officially begun and the deals are coming in fast. For those who have been looking to purchase an Xbox One lately, today might be the day as a particularly good discount is available. On Amazon UK, the Xbox One S 1TB console is available with Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft Explorers Pack, an extra Minecraft themed controller, and a vertical stand for £199.

Ordinarily, that bundle would be available for £400, so you’d be saving yourself a significant amount of money with the deal. It also helps that there’s a good selection of games. While Forza Horizon 3 might be an older release, it remains of the best games on the Xbox One and a standout title within the racing game genre. Minecraft is, of course, always popular and continues to be updated with regular content. Finally, Sea of Thieves is the newest release available as part of the bundle, and it’s got a lot to offer for those wanting to live the fantasy of a pirate, sailing the seas and gathering treasure.

The vertical stand is an added bonus, as is the Creeper controller, which sports the iconic blocky Minecraft texture and comes in a grassy green color. While not quite the latest version of the Xbox One (that’d be the Xbox One X), this version of the console is still very capable, supporting HDR (you’ll need a HDR capable TV) and having a sizeable hard drive. Not a bad deal, all in all. Remember that you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime subscribers to make use of the discount.

With games ballooning in size it’s usually a good idea to have external storage options for your gaming console of choice. For those on Xbox One looking for a little extra space, the UK’s Amazon Prime Day has a deal going that is worth considering. As part of its sale, the official Seagate 2 TB hard drive is available for £65, down from £88. This is pretty handy if you download a lot of games digitally or have a bunch of installs taking up precious memory.

Since it’s just a standard USB input, you’re not limited to using the hard drive just on Xbox devices, you can–if you so choose–plug it in to a PC or even a PS4 for a quick memory expansion. It just might just be a little strange to see the iconic Xbox green sitting next to a PlayStation device.
