11 TV Time Jumps to Remember
The concept of time can be a tricky thing to manipulate in the world of television. Writers can effectively use it to skip over mundane storylines not worth paying attention to, or use it as an easy way out after writing themselves into an impossible corner.
Most of the time, this technique can be a fun way to look at characters in a different light by creating new and interesting stories for the writers to delve into. Series like Lost and Breaking Bad have implemented the time jump method with great success because their characters actually went through a compelling transformation.

Why Westworld Is the Jurassic Park Sequel We Deserve
Even in this Game of Thrones-dominated time we live in, Westworld is easily one of HBO’s biggest draws. Season 1 became the most-watched first season in the channel’s history. And why not? It shares a lot in common with the uber-popular Jurassic Park franchise. The true root of Westworld’s appeal is less the Lost-style mythology and mind-bending plot twists than the fact that it’s a better Jurassic Park sequel than the actual sequels.
Avengers ‘Road to Infinity War’ Art Features Ant-Man and the Wasp
New artwork for Avengers: Infinity War has been released, and it features many of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Marvel Studios head of visual development Ryan Meinerding created the art, dubbed “The Road to Infinity War—10 Years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” for the D23 Summer Movie Spectacular magazine issue in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the MCU.
The image features the Marvel superheroes in some of their older looks, including Black Widow with long red hair and Captain America in his World War II costume. Check out the art, courtesy of Meinerding’s Instagram, below.
New Final Fantasy 15 DLC Episodes Confirmed
Square Enix had previously teased that Final Fantasy XV would continue to expand with new DLC episodes this year. We’ve now learned what the company has in mind for those additions, but they’re unfortunately not coming as soon as expected. A total of four more episodes are on the way, though these won’t arrive until sometime in 2019.
The news was shared during a panel at PAX East. Like past episodes, each one will center around a specific character: Ardyn, Aranea, Luna, and Noctis. The last one is the most notable of the bunch, as it will explore the story of his “final battle.” Here’s how the slides (via ResetEra) presented during the panel describe each of the four:
Episode I: Ardyn — The Conflict of the Sage
- This story portrays the struggles of Ardyn. Witness the resentment he harbored towards Lucis for over 2000 years, and his clashes with the Astrals.
Episode Side Story: Aranea — The Beginning of the End
- A side story about the Starscourge depicted from the Niflheim’s perspective. The final day of the Empire turns out to be Aranea’s worst day.
Episode II: Lunafreya — The Choice of Freedom
- This story’s about Luna’s fate, which not even death can free her from. Her battle to save the one she loves overturns the destiny dealt to the Lucian King.
Episode III: Noctis — The Final Strike
- Parting ways with the Astrals, Noctis embarks upon his final battle in order to attain the ideal future for all his people.
Additional details on all of these are still to come, including specific release timing. We also don’t know how much these will cost or if Square Enix intends to offer an additional season pass for this new slate of content. When director Hajime Tabata confirmed more DLC last year, he would only say that the first episode would feature Ardyn.
Alongside the new DLC details, Square Enix announced some kind of crossover collaboration with the upcoming Shadow of the Tomb Raider, although we have no details on that at this point. Final Fantasy XV has seen plenty of crossovers already, including a surprisingly impressive one with Assassin’s Creed.
The First Purge: New Poster Released
A new poster for The First Purge has been released to coincidence with the movie’s first trailer.
The poster, via Deadline, teases the beginning of the violent annual holiday/event, which allows people to murder each other once a year to keep the crime rate down. The image features a lone figure with what seems to be face paint on holding a Molotov cocktail. Check out the poster below as well as the trailer.

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy 15 Crossover Announced
Looks like some kind of collaboration between Final Fantasy XV and Shadow of the Tomb Raider is heading our way. The brief teaser came today via Square Enix during a panel at PAX East. Below, you can see the slide shown during the panel (via IGN). The crossover is said to be “coming soon,” but that’s about all we know so far.
Final Fantasy XV has been no stranger to crossovers since its release in 2016. In August of last year, the game got an infusion of Assassin’s Creed. To celebrate the game’s release on PC, it got some (bizarre) Half-Life and Sims 4 content added for good measure.
That’s all we know about the crossover between Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy XV for now. In the meantime, you can look forward to Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which is set to release on September 14. Square Enix said more information about the game will be released on April 27. Four new DLC episodes for Final Fantasy XV have also been announced.
Avengers Infinity War: First Reactions to Footage Presentation
Marvel Studios and Disney screened the first 24 minutes of Avengers: Infinity War ahead of the film’s April 27 release, and those lucky enough to see the teaser have begun posting impressions on social media.
Although official reviews are embargoed for a few more weeks, the film’s first impressions have been wildly positive, so it sounds like there will be a lot for fans to look forward to.
Irish media outlet JOE.ie praised the film, saying the teaser is “an amazing treat” and even in 24 minutes, it managed to be “more quotable than most feature-length films.” They praise the film’s “epic” action and “spectacular” villains, saying now they “just want to watch it ALL!”
