How Captain Marvel’s Movie Fits In Before Avengers 4

Spoilers follow for Avengers: Infinity War!

With that symbol showing up at the end of Avengers: Infinity War in the after credit scene, attention is turning to Marvel Studios’ 2019 lineup. Next year will kick off with Captain Marvel, a movie that marks the debut of Brie Larson as Air Force pilot-turned cosmic superhero Carol Danvers and has a release date of March 6, 2019. Marvel has kept this new project pretty tightly under wraps, with no official images or footage released yet.

But even so, we do have a fairly good sense of what to expect from the Captain Marvel movie at this point. Here’s everything we know so far about the cast, story and how this movie fits into the larger MCU.

Avengers: Infinity War Confirmed When It Takes Place in the MCU Timeline

Last year, Spider-Man: Homecoming threw a wrench in the MCU timeline with its opening title card that said the movie takes place eight years after the Battle of New York from the original Avengers movie.

Avengers is supposed to be set in 2012, so that means Homecoming, Ant-Man, Civil War, and Black Panther all take place in 2020, which shifts the entire MCU timeline four years and makes some earlier dates incorrect. Mary Kish and Mike Mahardy are back from vacation and being busy to bring you the fifth episode of the long running Resident Kinevil series.

On this episode, Mary encounters more monsters shaped dangerously close to human reproductive organs, and also does her very best to not die. Neither situation goes all that well.
