Disney’s Biggest Action Movie Failures

It may be hard to remember now that Disney dominates the box office every year with Marvel and Star Wars movies, but there was a long time when House of Mouse couldn’t make a successful action movie to save their lives.

Granted, there are exceptions to this rule. Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean movies are blockbuster hits, the National Treasure movies made a killing, and the original 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is still a classic. But for the most part Disney usually seemed to have trouble making action-packed movies that could compete with other studios’ kick-butt blockbusters, which probably explains why they felt the need to buy pre-existing franchises that already had a huge built-in audience.

Fortnite Week 6 Challenges: Mountain Peaks; Metal Bridge, Three Billboards, And Crashed Bus

Alongside a new update, Epic Games has released the next set of weekly challenges in Fortnite: Battle Royale. As is typically the case, there are a total of seven new objectives for Battle Pass owners to complete on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile. One important note to be aware of before diving in is that the new limited-time mode, Sniper Shootout v2, is not granting rewards, XP, or progress at the time of this writing, but Epic is working on the issue.

A fair number of this week’s challenges are pretty straightforward, though they may require some time and patience. For instance, you’ll need to place a Cozy Campfire, which, of course, first requires you to actually get your hands on one. Be sure to throw it down as soon as you come across one to ensure you get the credit for this.

Other challenges are simply a matter of being in the right place or using the right weapon. You’ll need to deal damage with SMGs, open chests in Anarchy Acres, secure eliminations with explosive weapons (such as the new Guided Missile), and take out enemies in Retail Row. The latter two are labeled as Hard, but spend enough time in those locations and you should eventually have no trouble racking up the 10 Battle Stars offered as rewards for each.

There are two others that are slightly more involved. The first asks you to summit 10 different mountain peaks. In other words, you simply have to reach the top. You can either climb mountains individually or, if you don’t care too much about your starting location, simply land on top of a mountain at the start of each round 10 different times. Take note that you’ll primarily find mountains around the western half of the map.

The other more complex challenge is a Hard one that asks you to “search between a Metal Bridge, Three Billboards, and a Crashed Bus.” As with past objectives like this, it’s simply a matter of tracking down the Battle Star icon that’s hidden in between the stated objects. In this case, you’ll find it on a small mountaintop in the E7 section of the map. It’s right between Shifty Shafts and Salty Springs, just northeast of the bridge that’s closer to the former. Build your way up (or land there at the beginning of the match), pick up the item, and you’re all done.

You can see all of the Week 6 challenges below. As always, you’ll need the Battle Pass to take part in these (except for the existing set of free challenges), and you have the full season to complete them, which gives you through the end of April to do so. Completing challenges rewards you with Battle Stars, leveling up your Battle Pass and giving you a quick route to unlock Season 3’s cosmetic rewards. You can see all the Season 3 challenges here.

  • Hard: Search between a Metal Bridge, Three Billboards, and a Crashed Bus — 10 Battle Stars

Nintendo Switch Adds 19 New Eshop Games Plus Xenoblade And Fire Emblem DLC This Week

Nintendo Switch is getting a basket-load of new releases this week, from brawlers and puzzle games to new DLC for some of the system’s biggest releases. The update will add 19 games in all, along with one demo.

Headlining the set is Toki Tori, a remake of the classic puzzle-platformer. It’s only fitting for the holiday weekend that players can spend some time going on an egg hunt, and this marks its return to a portable format. Pairing up with the little chick is Penny-Punching Princess, an isometric brawler RPG from NIS. It takes place in a fantastical land of dragons and monsters, but money still makes the world go round.

That adds three new playable characters (Owain, Tharja and Olivia) and three more History Maps, along with new weapons and attributes, costumes, armor break models, and support conversations.

What Did You think of This Week’s Comics?

The old IGN Comics review roundup may be retired, but we still want to make sure readers have a place to come together and discuss their favorite books of the week. Scroll down to check out some of our reviews and opinion pieces from the past week, and then head down to the comments section to get the discussion started.

Written by Scott Snyder | Drawn by Greg Capullo w/ Various Artists

“Dark Nights: Metal has certainly lived up to its name, cramming in all sorts of heavy metal-worthy imagery and crazy situations. That doesn’t change one bit in the finale. The downside is that the series continues to be too overstuffed for its own good in its final chapter. As good a job as it does hyping up what’s to come for the DCU, it doesn’t quite carry the same weight as Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s best Batman stories.” -Jesse

Jurassic World Evolution Wants to Show You The Best Dinosaurs You’ve Ever Seen

“We want to make the best dinosaurs you’ve ever seen,” said Jurassic World Evolutions’  Executive producer Rich Theobold, before revealing a ceratosaurus, its thunderous footsteps shaking the room as the devs let it loose into their custom-build park. Its pebbled skin glistens in the sunlight, a John Williams-alike score soars in the background.

It was a very good looking dinosaur, and one of over 30 (at launch) in Evolution, Frontier’s business sim set in the Jurassic Park/World universe where the goal is to build your own park empire. I’ll admit that the dinos were what I was here for; I’m a big series fan but relatively green when it comes to the genre. Fortunately Evolution feels accessible off the bat, and better still, deeply Jurassic Park-esque, an extension of the movie series rather than a sim with the good fortune to have the license.

Jurassic World Evolution Gets Official Digital, Physical Release Date

Frontier Developments’ dinosaur park management sim Jurassic World Evolution will be released digitally on June 12 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and physically on July 3 for PS4 and Xbox One.

Although Evolution’s release date was accidentally leaked two weeks ago, this is the first we’ve learned of the physical release date.

Jurassic World Evolution was announced at last year’s Gamescom. We recently went hands on with its first hour, and talked to its head of animation for an introduction to the game.

Super Mario Odyssey Adds 2 New Costumes

Mario’s wardrobe is getting updated again, with a baseball uniform and a somewhat obscure reference to Nintendo’s Japanese Super Famicom add-on, the Satellaview outfit.

Satellaview was a satellite modem that allowed players to download games to their console during a specific time slot using the satellite radio service of Nintendo’s then-partner, St. GIGA. It was released in Japan in 1995. You can watch Mario floating around in space in the Japanese commercial for it right here.
