Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, an upcoming game by studio Team Reptile, isn’t shy about its inspirations. Between its colorful cel-shaded visuals, Hideki Naganuma soundtrack, and all the tagging, rail-grinding and dancing gameplay you could want, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is looking like Jet Set Radio Future spiritual successor of our dreams.

The Netherlands-based studio dropped its first official trailer today, after announcing the game with a short teaser last year. The game is described as “1 second per second of highly advanced funkstyle,” with a short synopsis of the game reading: “Start your own cypher and dance, paint, trick, face off with the cops and stake your claim to the extrusions and cavities of a sprawling metropolis in an alternate future set to the musical brainwaves of Hideki Naganuma.”

The music may sound familiar to fans of the original Jet Set Radio games, as Naganuma was the composer behind both Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future’s soundtracks. The Japanese composer will now be creating brand-new music for Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.

Initially intended to release this year, the team have now updated the game’s release window to 2022. The game’s Steam page is live now, while console releases are also likely, with Team Reptile stating “we aim to release the game on all relevant platforms.”

Apex Legends has announced upcoming server maintenance where, instead of taking the game completely offline for the duration, Apex will temporarily reset to a state that’s basically Season 0. During the maintenance, players may lose access to their inventory, store, and cosmetic unlocks, and only the default characters will be available.

While the cast of Apex Legends has grown to 16 characters over the course of eight seasons, the game initially launched its preseason, or Season 0, with just eight characters–six of whom were free to play and two requiring an unlock with Apex Coins or Legend Tokens. It’s unclear whether the “default” characters playable include the preseason’s full cast of eight, or only the six Legends who don’t need to be unlocked.

The maintenance will occur between 2:30 AM PT and finish by 5:30 AM PT on February 25, giving players a chance to experience the game as it hasn’t been since early 2019. Apex doesn’t normally have this kind of scheduled maintenance, leading players to hope that it may finally address some of the server issues that have been ongoing since the game’s launch, but particularly bad recently.

Other players in a Reddit thread about the maintenance have commented on the limited play that will be available during the downtime, with some hoping that it might lead to Apex introducing a proper LTM where only the game’s original characters are playable.

There’s not a lot happening in the deal world today, but you can score some good deals on some useful tech items that we don’t normally post. Amazon is hosting a kickstarter-like campaign for a smart cuckoo clock as a reasonable price. Best Buy has an HP OMEN RTX 3070 equipped laptop (that’s not even available at HP direct). Hulu has released the official trailer for Season 2 of Solar Opposites, which is set to premiere on the streamer on Friday, March 26, 2021.

Solar Opposites was co-created by Justin Roiland (Rick & Morty) and Mike McMahan (ex-writer’s assistant on Rick & Morty). Here’s how Hulu describes the series:

“Solar Opposites centers around a team of four aliens who escape their exploding homeworld only to crash land into a move-in ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Roiland) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love humans and all their TV, junk food, and fun stuff. Their mission: protect the Pupa, a living supercomputer that will one day evolve into its true form, consume them and terraform the Earth.”

After a series of teases from the film’s cast, including Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, and Zendaya, Spider-Man director Jon Watts kind of set the record straight and revealed the new Spidey sequel will be titled Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The stars of the film revealed the title in a new video, as the stars discussed the fake titles they received and whether they can be trusted with these Marvel secrets after leaving Watts’ office.

Just yesterday, the three main stars jokingly each revealed separate names for the film, including Phone Home, Home-Wrecker, and Home Slice. The video above teases out some of the many, many considered names, all involving the word home to follow in the footsteps of Homecoming and Far From Home, before the team settled on No Way Home.

Spider-Man 3 is scheduled is currently set for a December 17, 2021 release date, and although there have been reports that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would be returning for this new film, Tom Holland denied those rumors, having said he’s read the whole script and that it would be a big secret to keep from Spider-Man himself.

Marvel also revealed this week that the Disney+ series Loki is set for a June release, following after the soon-to-be-wrapped WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which will begin airing in March.

In terms of its physical presence, it weighs in at just under 80 pounds and stands 57.8 inches with the custom Mortal Kombat II-themed riser.

Disney+ has officially revealed the premiere date for Marvel’s upcoming Loki series starring Tom Hiddleston – and it’s been pushed back from May to June 11.

During the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour on Wednesday, Disney+ paneled some of its upcoming series and presented a Q&A with Marvel Studios President and Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige. At the event, the streaming service unveiled the release date for Marvel’s Loki, scheduling the series for a Disney+ premiere on June 11, 2021 — which is slightly later than the May release window that was announced at Disney’s annual Investor Day event last year.

Loki features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. Hiddleston is returning as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron is the series’ director, and Michael Waldron is the head writer.

Herron previously revealed that Loki would be going to “an entirely new part of the MCU,” as the mischievous character is expected to pop up at various points throughout human history, influencing historical events. The series is said to tie into the events of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, which is currently penciled in for a release on March 25, 2022.

Very few details are known about Loki’s connection to the MCU movie, but we do know that the Doctor Strange sequel is also going to tie into the events of Spider-Man 3 and WandaVision. Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff will appear alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s Steven Strange, and Feige has teased that the Multiverse will be a running theme throughout Phase Four and beyond.
