Mario Kart Tour is finally getting a landscape mode. Nintendo’s mobile games have been met with financial success but that doesn’t stop them from receiving their share of criticism. Since the launch of Mario Kart Tour, players have been wondering why a landscape mode doesn’t exist and in turn, asking for one to be implemented. Just two months shy of its original launch day, the game is finally getting a landscape mode.

“Here’s a sneak peek at some of the content that’s planned for the next #MarioKartTour update,” a tweet from the official Mario Kart Tour account reads. “Players will have the option of racing in either the existing portrait mode or the new landscape mode!”

As you can see, the landscape mode will come with a unique control layout to make it feel right at home when playing horizontally. The original vertical portrait mode will still exist for players not looking to switch up the game’s controls. Landscape mode will come with the game’s next update which is scheduled to hit Android and iOS devices on July 21.

Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin, an action-simulation game, is coming to North America on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC on November 10, publisher XSeed announced. The game combines action-packed side scrolling with an immersive farming simulator.

The game follows Sakuna, a harvest goddess banished to a dangerous island with a group of humans, where she must prove herself worthy of by harvesting rice and enriching the lives of humans. Battle demons across the island using farm tools and power up Sakuna by improving your farming skills.

Sakuna also must build a community with the humans, who will create weapons, armor, and meals using the ingredients and materials she gathers on her adventures. The game features a unique take on Japanese mythology, with twists on gods and demons alike.

Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin will be available for $40 and the Divine edition will be available for $60, including a 130 page artbook, the original soundtrack on disc, and Japanese omamori charm.

Temtem is getting its biggest update since its PC version launched via Early Access. Coming out July 21, developer Crema will add a new island called Kisiwa into the Pokemon-like massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Beyond the tropical island filled with catchable monsters to explore, the patch will also include the ability to remap controls, the ability to join an in-game club, and increase the level cap from 48 to 58.

The star of the update is the island itself as Kisiwa features plenty of Temtem creatures to capture, additional traversal options, and unique items to use. The storyline has players defending the island from an evil organization called Belsoto led by General X. The update is so notable that Temtem’s price will increase after the patch is released to $37.50 instead of $35.

While the studio originally meant to release a major update earlier this year, it later decided to merge it with the Kisiwa update. As such, it now boasts several social additions as players will be able to create clubs that allow 50 members to join. Each club has its own banner that will show on player’s profiles, and players will have to pay a fee using in-game currency to join them. Currently, clubs serve merely as a social hub as Crema is still working on implementing wars between competing clans.

Other social features include a reworked chatting interface that features several different tabs for filtering messages. There are also chat bubbles that show what nearby users are saying, although they can also be turned off if you don’t want a distraction. Tamers can also privately message one another and block and report users. Finally, it will include several new emotes to give players the ability to play rock-paper-scissors, meditate, and cheer on others.

Temtem is available now on PC and is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in the future.

Originally unveiled last fall, The Art of Spyro: Reignited Trilogy finally releases tomorrow, July 21. The oversized coffee table book explores the well-received remastered collection of the classic platforming series. Spyro fans can still pre-order the hardcover art book at Amazon, and you can even get a discount, albeit a small one.

Normally $45, you can grab The Art of Spyro: Reignited Trilogy for $40.50. Yes, we know that isn’t a large discount by any means, but the Blizzard Entertainment-published book hasn’t been discounted much at all since going up for pre-order last year.

The 240-page compendium includes insights from the trilogy’s developers as well as commentary about the Spyro series from illustrators across the video game industry. Of course, it’s also filled with plenty of illustrations and never-before-seen concept art.

Though this art book is a tad late considering Spyro Reignited Trilogy released in 2018, now’s your chance to get some fresh Spyro content. The game itself, which was developed by Toys for Bob, earned an 8/10 in GameSpot’s Spyro Reignited Trilogy review.

Gaming and entertainment art books are incredibly common nowadays. In just the past couple of weeks, a new Batman: The Animated Series art book and Watch Dogs Legion lore book were revealed.

Infinity Ward appears to be teasing its plans for Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. Though the tease is short on details, it may give us an indication of when to expect the next season to drop.

Charlie Intel reports that the company sent a video to Twitch streamer NICKMERCS. The video shows the date August 5, which is when the current Battle Pass is set to end. It also shows a vehicle on a train track, and late in the video a helicopter flies overhead.

We may see more teasers coming in advance of the new season launch. There have also been consistent rumors that Activision will tease or announce this year’s Call of Duty game from within Warfare, in absence of a press event or televisted sports games to show off the big reveal. We know that Warzone will continue to evolve with new annual Call of Duty game releases.

Infinity Ward often drops new game modes and big changes in new season changeovers, along with new story content featuring fan-favorite characters. Warzone has also often gotten significant updates mid-season. Recently, though, lots of Call of Duty updates have been focused on removing or revising offensive cosmetics, like the OK gesture or a “Border War” skin.

Dataminers have unearthed a number of interesting potential details about Call of Duty 2020, including notes about Zombies, Warzone, Campaign and Multiplayer maps.

Twitter user Prototype Warehouse unearthed a set of tags within the game files, which appear to have been pulled from ‘The Red Door’, an alleged alpha of this year’s Call of Duty which appeared on the Microsoft Store earlier this week. Some users have reported being able to download The Red Door, saying that it’s titled Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA when downloaded.

The phrases posted to Twitter yesterday seem to pertain to different modes within the game – the embedded tweet below supposedly contains strings tied to the game’s single-player campaign, with titles like “nam_armada, nam_prisoner” and “rus_kgb” suggesting parts of the story will take place in Vietnam and Russia. A leak we reported on back in May suggested that this year’s Call of Duty game will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and will return to the historical setting of its namesake franchise.

Tags for multiplayer maps such as Moscow, Satelite and Tank were also found, with Eurogamer noting that earlier in the year, one of the COD 2020 gameplay leaks featured a map called Tank. Dataminers also found Warzone references such as “duga” and “ski slopes” and a lone tag which is supposedly tied to the game’s Zombies mode, “Silver.”

It’s not clear how any of this ties together in practice for now, but evidence is building concerning the alleged makeup of 2020’s Call of Duty game. Some expect the game to be officially revealed at this week’s Xbox Games Showcase, although that remains speculation for the time being.

EA has revealed the official player ratings for all 2000+ players in Madden NFL 21.

Published on the Madden website, you can compare and filter the rating of every player in the game, and use the search function to find your favourites. You can also sort the list by individual statistics such as strength and speed.

Five players this year have hit the fabled 99 overall stat this year: Aaron Donald, Christian McCaffrey, Michael Thomas, Patrick Mahomes, and Stephon Gilmore. As with all modern Madden games, these are stats for launch, and can change over the source of the year.

EA recently announced that it will be removing the former logo and name of the Washington Redskins from Madden NFL 21, implementing a “generic Washington team” as they wait for the team’s management to update its branding.

Madden NFL 21 will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this August 25, 2020. We’re yet to receive a release date for the next-gen versions of the game, but if you purchase the game on current-gen consoles, you’ll be able to upgrade the game using EA’s Dual Entitlement system, allowing users to acquire the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X version of the game free of charge.
