Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind Will Get You Granular Difficulty Control And New Photo Modes

Kingdom Hearts III is due to receive a major piece of free DLC, called Re:Mind, before the end of February 2020. The new downloadable content will come with new playable characters, including Aqua, Roxas, and Riku, as well as new Keyblade transformations and fights. Now, thanks to one fan who attended the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra performance in Osaka, we have some more details about what the DLC will add.

These details, which were tweeted by a Twitter user called Melanie and then compiled by Eurogamer, are focused on some of the ephemera around the new playable content, including new difficulty options and photo modes. While the tweet below mentions a release new month, Melanie clarifies later in the thread that it might actually just be a trailer that’s being released in December, as a final release date cannot be nailed down just yet.

Photo mode lets you pose the characters from the game in any setting you want, adding props and changing backgrounds, which sounds like a lot of fun. Slideshow mode, apparently, will let you link photos together, complete with transitions and background music–what you’d expect from the name, basically.

Fast Pass Mode and “Black Code” both concern the game’s difficulty, with Fast Pass being designed to let you rip through the game as fast as possible. It lets you one-shot kill enemies and stack more attractions, so that battles end faster and you can play through the story quickly. Black Code gives you granular control over your difficulty, changing how much health you have and potentially making the game harder in numerous ways. Melanie does not have further details, as they apparently went by very fast.

Re:Mind will likely contain new boss encounters when it finally launches, and sounds substantial considering the fact that it’s free.

Frozen 2 Breaks Records And Knives Out Opens Strong: Thanksgiving 2019 Box Office Results

Frozen II opened last weekend to huge numbers, earning $127 million domestically and $350 million worldwide. The film has shown no signs of slowing down in its second weekend, posting record-breaking figures over the Thanksgiving break. It wasn’t the only film to find success this weekend, though, with Knives Out enjoying a huge opening, and Queen & Slim also turning in a respectable first weekend result.

Frozen II has broken the 3-day and 5-day records for Thanksgiving in its second weekend; according to Box Office Mojo, it made $85.2 million from Friday to Sunday and an enormous $123.7 million from Wednesday to Sunday. Frozen II has now made $738,573,344 worldwide, and is well on its way to topping $1 billion. The original Frozen made $1.27 billion over its run, and it’ll be interesting to see if Frozen II can top that. It will almost certainly retain the top spot next weekend too, with Playmobil: The Movie, the only wide release that will go up against it, having received terrible reviews.

In second place, Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson’s new film Knives Out enjoyed a huge opening. It pulled in $41.7 million over the five days, plus another $28.3 million internationally. With an estimated budget of around $40 million, fantastic word-of-mouth, and excellent reviews (we gave it a 9/10,) the film is likely to continue performing over the weeks ahead. 68% of the movie’s audience was aged over 25, suggesting that it played well as counter-programming to the younger-focused Frozen II.

The other new major release over Thanksgiving, Queen & Slim, brought in $15.8 million over the five days. The film, which stars Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) as “Slim” and Jodie Turner-Smith (The Neon Demon) as “Queen”, was written by Lena Waithe and made by first-time director Melina Matsoukas. It’s a strong debut for the low-budget romantic film, which sees a young couple going on the run after things go wrong on a first date.

Elsewhere in the charts, Ford v Ferrari made $19 million over three days, while A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, starring Tom Hanks as Mr Rogers, brought in $17.3 million in the same frame. Both films have held well since release. Charlie’s Angels, meanwhile, has dropped out of the top 10.

Here are the three-day box office figures for the weekend of November 29-December 1.

  1. Frozen II — $85,250,000
  2. Knives Out — $27,022,000
  3. Ford v Ferrari — $13,221,000
  4. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood — $11,800,000
  5. Queen & Slim — $11,700,000
  6. 21 Bridges — $5,820,000
  7. Playing with Fire — $4,200,000
  8. Midway — $3,957,000
  9. Joker — $2,030,000
  10. Last Christmas — $1,980,000

The Vatican May Get It’s Own Minecraft Server

The Vatican may be getting its own Minecraft server thanks to a Jesuit priest who plans to launch a potentially friendlier place for people to play.

PC Gamer reports Fr. Robert Ballecer was a student of technology in Silicon valley before he was ordained. Since then he’s used his knowledge to help connect more people and help out other leaders of the church who may not be so familiar with IT and tech trends.

Minecraft has been the focus of his efforts since Ballecer hosted a poll on Twitter a few months back. He asked followers what server they’d prefer out of Rust, Ark, Team Fortress 2, or Minecraft and Mojang’s crafting game came out well ahead with 64% of the total voting tally.
