Marvel’s Deadpool Finale Balances Comedy and Tragedy

Gerry Duggan’s long Deadpool run has tended to work best when the humor takes a back seat to pathos and tragedy. Duggan knows how to put Wade Wilson through the wringer. It’s fitting that his run comes to a close in an oversized issue that emphasizes both comedy and tragedy in equal measure. It’s a suitably downbeat end to an influential series.

Duggan and his artists work the humor out of their systems in the first half of this issue, which basically involves the Avengers struggling and failing to take down the fugitive Deadpool after Wade has gained the ability to make anyone around him vomit uncontrollably. This is a real “your mileage may vary” sequence. If gross-out gags are your jam – especially gags that go on long enough that they stop being amusing and then circle right around to being funny again – then these pages won’t disappoint. Everyone else may find it a tough slog. It is pretty entertaining to see just how many different ways there are for superheroes to shower innocent bystanders in puke.

Infinity War Originally Featured This Long-Awaited Reunion

The initial draft for Avengers: Infinity War included a long-awaited reunion between two characters, but the scene ultimately didn’t make it into the final script.

Warning: Avengers: Infinity War spoilers follow.

Screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely originally wanted to include a scene where Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) are reunited and confront the lingering discord between the two of them from Civil War. “Our first sort of wonky draft

the idea that they had to get back in the same room together and deal with that,” McFeely told Yahoo Entertainment.

Valve Making Entire Steam Library Playable On Mobile Via Free App

Valve has announced two free mobile apps that will allow you to play any game or video in your Steam Library on any supported iOS or Android devices.

The Steam Link app, which is slated to release the week of May 21, will work similarly to the physical Steam Link device. It will allow you to run games on your PC that you then stream and play on any device using the app, as long as the host PC is connected either to a 5Ghz network or plugged in with an ethernet cable.

How you will actually control those games is a different question altogether, although Steam’s Big Picture mode already has a history of allowing controls to be highly customizable in games that otherwise don’t support it. The Steam Link app will support the use of a Steam Controller and MFI controllers, and you’ll likely need to use something similar as most games won’t have native support for touch controls.

Cobra Kai: Macchio and Zabka on How Johnny is Daniel’s Kryptonite

After more than 30 years since the original, iconic Karate Kid movie debuted in theaters in 1984, stars Ralph Macchio and Billy Zabka have reunited for Cobra Kai – a new 10-episode series on YouTube Red that drops us into the lives of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence decades later, and infuses everything with a clever take on the classic tale.

Johnny, now down-on-his-luck, seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo, reigniting his rivalry with a now successful Daniel LaRusso, who has been struggling to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of his mentor, Mr. Miyagi. It’s a project both actors felt compelled to be a part of when they heard the new idea.

Miitomo Shuts Down Today

Nintendo has officially shut down Miitomo today.

The company announced its plans to close its first smartphone app earlier this year. While Nintendo hasn’t given a specific reason for the shutdown, it could be due to a drop-off of users. When Miitomo launched in 2016, over 10 million users signed up for the app in the first month.

However, Nintendo still plans on expanding its mobile presence. The company’s new president, Shuntaro Furukawa, recently said he’s interested in developing more smartphone games and wants to grow Nintendo’s mobile games output into a 100 billion yen ($910 million USD) business.

Terminal Review

I’m convinced that writer/director Vaughn Stein is secretly the Riddler. His debut film, Terminal, is my only proof. Far from a bad movie – the strong acting and clever use of classic literature is certainly entertaining – this dark tale twists and turns a little more than it needs to.

Terminal’s story focuses on a few key characters and their interactions with a seemingly deranged waitress. A legendary underworld figure, Mr. Franklin, hires two assassins to take part in a high-profile hit. They aren’t given any details on the target, just a black briefcase with clues leading them to a contact with more information. To mull over the details in a quiet place, the pair of hit men take refuge in a rundown diner. Meanwhile, a grammar school teacher with a terminal illness wanders about a train station at night. His disposition is grim; he isn’t trying to catch a train in the normal sense. Before he can make good on his departure, the teacher’s solitude is invaded by an inquisitive janitor. Their brief chat about train schedules end with a suggestion: a nearby diner where the teacher could get some tea and possibly rethink his travel plans.
